Michel.
Get it right, Jim you racist. /jk
But i'd like to see this game done with UbiArt if possible. That'd be a really fucking pretty 3D game.
Anyway, people, GO BUY RAYMAN LEGENDS AND RAYMAN ORIGINS.
PC exclusive. We have your "more tech" right here right now.
this is business so they're talking about platforms that, you know, are PROFITABLE.
i love the PC elitists who constantly claim how this and that projects that costs often over 50-60mln$ should be PC exclusive pointing to all those "great" success stories how PORT that cost 200-300k$ of a console game(with it's budget of 20-30mln$ that made money on consoles) made money that was spend on porting it to PCs back. the fact that developers are throwing a party when PC game made 200-300k$ while their budgets EXCEEDS 30MILLION$ is a joke.
if you're not Battlefield, Call of Duty or an MMO title you won't even manage to sell even 500k copies on PC.
BG&E2 already at this point cost probably over 10-15mln$ with it's long pre-production, several development stages. the game was in pre-production for over 3 years inside Ubisoft Montpellier and it gone through several different engines(including those that powered both reveal trailer and gameplay trailer which was actually their own engine built specifically for BG&E2). until late 2010, as was stated by Ancel, they were STIL working on an engine - one which now will have to be ported and optimized for future consoles. we're looking at another Assassin's Creed type of game - so yeah, PC exclusive? good luck with that. PC sales wouldn't even cover pre-production let alone nearly 5 years of active development it has already been in.
Yea, i don't see where the problem is. Release it for PC, check for feedback, release updated version for consoles. What is there to loose? You will know what players like, you'll know what to improve, you'll know what to fix. Developing for PC is cheaper, and if by God the game sucks, you won't spend 100 million dollars developing it for consoles and paying royalty fees to MS and Sony.
I know, i know, herp derp nuu generahcion exclusive for XboxSkynet and Metal GearStation 4!!
Put an end to your anti-PC elitism, sir.
I think that makes sense... I mean, as far as I know, the only way to make a game and Then figure out where it can go is to make it for pc.
Considering it is Ubisoft though, that seems a little strange to Me
Really, consoles now... I don't get it. PC gaming isn't as expansive as everyone thinks. The initial costs are high, yes. But after that you can just upgrade the stuff. Mostly it's the GPU so it's even easy to do.
