Beyond Good & Evil 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3 photo

Yesterday we brought word that yes, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in preproduction and waiting for a green light from Ubisoft. The French magazine in which creator Michael Ancel was interviewed also brings to light the game's intended platform -- the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Remember, this game still hasn't been officially approved by Ubisoft, so we don't know if it will ever definitely reach those platforms yet. Now that the gaming public knows a sequel is being drafted, however, I wouldn't like to be the Ubisoft rep that has to tell them it's not happening if things went that way. One only hopes that the threat of nerdy assassination prompts Ubi into making the right decision.

I really hope this comes to pass. Having the world of Hillys brought to life with the power of modern consoles is something I want to happen before I die.

If it's in pre-production now, we won't see this for years.

I should probably play the first one, huh.

Feeling a bit guilty here.

One one hand it's unfortunate that another third-party ignores the market leader; it's a wonderful thing if this is true, because the first game was great and Ancel deserves to have his dream trilogy made.

Don't let this series bomb again, PS3/360 owners.

@ Sphinx. For for PS2 / PS3 and Gamecube / Wii, yes. For Xbox360, unfortunately not. But you can buy it from Steam if you have a PC that was made in the last 6 years. If you're not sure whether it will work, you can download a demo from Filefront.

Incidentally, I had a dream last night about next gen Hillys. It was so sweet, I could hear the music and recognise the landmarks... all my best dreams are video game related.

I seriously...SERIOUSLY don't see Ubi turning down the offer on this. They're not stupid.

as much noise and of a cult following this game has, they'd do nothing less than take it.

LucBernard: Did you really hate the english Voiceacting?
Granted, I've never heard the french V.O, but one of BG&E's best features was the voice acting(especially Jade and Peyj!)
It made BG&E the best game with a title inspired by a uppity German philosopher released in 2003!

That's probably because you speak French. How very French of you to assume that you're the only people with a spoken language on the entire planet.

It'll get made. Ubisoft would prove themselves 18 shades of stupid if they didn't.

I agree with Morrius about an HD remake of the first one being most wanted. I would be in heaven if they were to release a collectors edition with this packed in with BGE2

Why not the Wii? Games don't have to be hi-def to be good. The combat system in the first game would work well with the Wiimote's pointer.
