High-res texturesBethesda puts out improved HD textures for Skyrim DLC photo

While it would have been nice to see Dragonborn for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim hit PC earlier than it did, the Steam release is now behind us, and Bethesda has a nice bonus on top of it. For those users who can handle high-resolution textures, the studio has put out an update which offers improved textures for Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and the aforementioned add-on.

"Before you download, make sure your PC has the horsepower to support it," cautions Bethesda. "Make sure your system requirements exceed Skyrim's recommended specs before attempting to install, and that your PC has Windows Vista/7, a minimum of 4GB of system RAM, and a DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with at least 1 GB of RAM and the latest drivers."

Speaking of Skyrim, I need to get around to reinstalling one of these days -- I'm now physically and mentally ready to spend a weekend screwing around with mods. From the looks of it, there's plenty of catching up to do.

Here's a Skyrim fan film just because

Skyrim: Journey's End is a little fan movie starring the Dragonborn taking on a Necromancer and a couple of undead bandits. It's an impressive short, and it's made even more impressive due to the fact that the costumes and props were all made with just a $100 budget. [Thanks, Shannon!]more

Storm's Adventure with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Here I am again, the sweaty, fat kid running back up to Destructoid, saying, "No, wait, I got another." So I held this voting event a while ago on YouTube called "Tell Storm What To Play 2012", and this is the true end result. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not new, and nothing I say will change anything. But this is what YouTube wanted. Blame them. Also, that helmet gets very hot.more
