Yeah, this takes me back. Most game commercials today are pretty straightforward, which is cool, but there's something about the "weird" ones that I love.

Mediocre?!? You my friend are an asshole. When I first played the original, I was completely wow'd, after a while of not playing it, I would've almost agreed with you, but then I took it over to my friends house to play with them, and I was hooked right in. Still one if not the best title on the Wii, and it looks like the sequel might just surpass it... only time will tell on that one though.
This one belongs in the awesome Nintendo ad collection with New Super Mario Bros Wii, Punch-Out!! , and Zelda: Spirit Tracks
I wouldn't call Mario galaxy 1 mediocre but it was pitifully easy for the most part and I literally fell asleep playing that game. I did the same with Mario RPG and that Wario one too. New Super Mario was fun and from the looks of it, this game may be hard/fun enough to keep me awake

It really made the game look very "kiddy" to me, right down to it being a Disney ad up until Mario showed up. Hell, until they showed the gameplay, I would have thought this was an ad for some Disney/Nintendo collaboration.

Pretty meh if I'm to be honest but I'm still loving the look of Galaxy 2!

I guess I'm one of gaming's hard asses...? I loved Galaxy (it's on my Top 10 list) and am looking forward to Galaxy 2, but I didn't really see anything special about this trailer.

Why is this trailer supposed to be any good? I thought the first half of it was a Disney World commercial.
I personally loved that nostalgic feel it evoked in me, despite the fact I haven't even played the game yet. I guess it's because I loved Galaxy so much, I can't help but be insanely excited for Galaxy 2.
And I think I've said this roughly eight times now, but THAT MUSIC, GOOD GOD I LOVE THAT MUSIC. Seriously, Nintendo could make a killing if they sold soundtracks of their games. Don't tell me you wouldn't buy the Galaxy soundtrack in a heartbeat.

Wow.. it's so... honest. You know. Mario. He's just this lovable cartoon thingy. Like Disney. He doesn't have to pretend to be darker and edgier and moderner. He's just the same as he's always been. It's not even "retro charm" that IP's like Sonic have been throwing on recently. It's just like things have never changed. There was never a break in Mario's theme. It's a continuum, there is no "retro" Mario because Mario has always been this way. It's fantastic.
