THAT'S PICCOLO?! When I heard that James Marsters was playing Piccolo, I had hope for the DBZ movie. But this?! SERIOUSLY?! I'm still hopeful. The trailer for the movie will be out next month so we'll soon know if this really is going to be one giant failboat.

The casting of the Dragon Ball movie is entirely wrong.

It can't help but fail, so I only hope that it's a hilarious barrel of fail.

That Yellow Bastard confirmed for Dragonball.

Whatever. If it isn't 2 hours of men constipating while floating in mid-air in the middle of some rave in the desert, I won't consider it a real Dragonball movie.

It sounds like it's not so much the casting as the art direction. They're humanizing a world (and universe) whose whole catch was that humans are only a fraction of its population.

The casting is wrong? Uhh, it doesn't take Brad Pitt to scream and grimace. Casting played little importance. They don't even need Piccolo to be green. They just need someone powering up and a flash to the title: "DRAGON BALL."

This isn't a fuckin' Martin Scorsese flick here people, this is down syndrome DBZ, and unless you're a preteen with self esteem issues this movies not for you.

Dragon Ball has already been nominated for an Oscar. Let's see if it can sweep the show.

I see where they are going with this movie. And I like it. As long as these fuckers are flying around and shooting after-effects at each other I mean I can stand the attempt to make the characters a little more realistic.

It looks like we're not the ones with self-esteem issues here...

Wait, James Marsters is playing Piccolo? I hope he affects his faux British accent from Buffy in the movie.

Why the hell isn't he green though? Cliche aliens are supposed to be green. I'm still in the minority of people that have a bit of hope for the movie.

There's a stigma of sorts going around that a true live action Dragonball is impossible. That's false. Despite the hilariously low budget and name/character changes, Dragonball: The Magic Begins is actually a pretty note fucking perfect live action version of Dragonball, from the way the characters act down to the stupid ass jokes. And if no one has ever seen it, You fail at life, seriously.

What the fuck is that. He's not even green. For what reason couldn't he be green?

He looks like that borg queen out of Star Trek.

The Magic Begins is not technically DBZ. It's the "Snakes on a Train" or "Alien vs. Hunter" equivalent.

The idea of a realistic Dragonball movie is very much an oxymoron. They're not making Dragonball realistic by making Marster's a white-friendy alien, they're only raping a once-profitable television series as if it was drunk, wearing a short skirt, and flirted with them once at the office Xmas party.

They're including a damn alien. Why not make him green?

Just to point out, it isn't a DBZ movie, its a Dragonball movie. there is a huge difference. But still, that image of Piccolo disgusts me.

I'm lolling at the nerd rage here and in the comments on the linked site. I'm actually looking forward to the movie because I hated the anime and this might actually be watchable.

Seriously there is zero hope. I know there are limitations and things that cannot carry over from the anime/comics but it all feels and looks wrong. All i do know is that this will be better then the first live action Dragon ball movie and thats not saying much!

I rather see goku power up for 30 episodes in DBZ then watch that crappy movie again.
