Oh thank goodness. I was getting really sick of those. From the trailer, I'm glad to see that GLaDOS' sense of humor and one-liners are still there.

Look, hate the jerkfaces that repeat tired jokes all you want. That's fine. But the jokes themselves, in context, are good. The solution is not to write out cake jokes, it's to slap every asshat who won't stop quoting it.

I'll be very disappointed if the game doesn't have the same sense of comedy as the first game, that's what made it special.

But seriously, this is great news. They'll probably have some other thing replacing it, but possibly they'll just have many different lolz instead of a repeating thing.

Sure, the puzzles make it worth it, but at least a game like Braid had the decency to let the player run past the story.

All ready knew this since the Gameinformer article. In fact, we've known practically everything since then. We've gotten to see game footage and hear what's going on, but nothing really new.

The whole concept of not beating a dead horse is really the best way to make Portal 2, both in dialog and in gameplay. Keep introducing new ideas and don't spend too much time on any one idea and it should be fine. There's a reason why Portal 1 is 3 hours long.
How can you not want them to try and make something like the first game? Like, people were annoyed by it because nerds kept repeating it at the slightest mention of cake. Just because people ran it into the ground doesn't mean valve shouldn't try and make the game funny with little joke snippets/one-liners.

Everyone is so jaded. Reminds me of these hipster douches who are 19 and think zombies are 'played out'. Suck a zombie dick. Good is good is good. That's all there is to it. Cake is relevant.
Well, a lack of cake definitely works in-universe. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." I would sort of hope that GLaDOS might mention it or try it one time and then dismiss it as a failed incentive, but whatevz.
I expect no less from Valve. Certainly the writers can come up with a new thing that will turn into a meme that we'll all get sick of in a year.
