Behold: high-res Ratchet and Clank Future screens and video photo
     PS3

Goddamn, I love me some Ratchet and Clank. A fistful of standout titles and not one hiccup in the bunch -- that's a heck of a record. Insomniac Games' newest effort, Tools of Destruction, looks pretty in ways that few PS3 games dare to be pretty -- it's colorful. How 'bout taking some notes, developers? Not all your next-gen games have to be brown and grey.

Anyways, if you're as big on ruthlessly violent anthropomorphic bobcats with tagalong robots as I am, it's likely that you may have kept up with our continuing coverage of the forthcoming Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction on the PS3, but there's some new pretty to get all frothy over: high resolution media, straight from the sticky womb of Insomniac. Dig some new screens in the gallery below and be sure to check out the trailer in either of its delicious flavors, standard or hi-def. You'll be glad you did.

hehe, nice little argument there. This game is looking awesome.

Damn, my heart aches. Between this game and Heavenly Sword, there are two reasons to want a PS3. Maybe they will port to the 360. Who is making Heavenly Sword? That game might be a Sony first party game.

I'm going to buy a PS3 just for this.

Or steal one.

Oh yeah, he's a Lombax

I think Ratchet and clank is published by Sony so it will stay exclusive to the ps3. Also anthropomorphic seems to be used as often as "the" on destructoid, its usually nex saying it so I'll give you a pass linde.....this time. *swivels around in villains chair* *eats baby*

Wow with all the Gears, Crackdowns and Resistances... I totally forgot about games like R&C! Looks great, can't wait to get me some 3d platforming action with random splatters of adult oriented humor, going!

Moclippa, anthropomorphic is a word that means "attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena".

I'll stop using the word when the industry stops using talking animals as protagonists.

I see you're not disputing the notion that you look like a bobcat, Linde. I will take that as a sign that I win.

Back on topic, I keep saying that R&C: Size Matters is the game that is going to sell a PSP to me, and I bet this is the game that is going to convince me to get a PS3. I just need a sweet summer job or something...

Dex, you keep running your mouth and I'll put the fuckin' leeches on you.

Incidentally, it's probably high time I shaved this beard.

Linde -- I'm a sucker for Grizzly Adams. And bobcats, coincidentally. You should find a way to incorporate your beard into a post before you whack it. Secondly, Arrested Developer is berating your for your sexy vocab, not Moclippa.

@all -- Anthropomorphic, in 8th grade terms, = personification.

What always impressed me most about the series is that the games always ran at 60FPS with almost non-existent slowdown. Graphic detail doesn't mean much to me unless it runs SMOOTHLY.

I have high hopes for this game. The games weren't exactly deep, but they delivered what matters: blowing $@%# up!

I love Ratchet and Clank, I have every game in the series. I'm not going to be spending $600 on some botched hardware to play the latest in the series though. :( Please let Insomniacs contract with Sony be up!

i have played every one of these titles and have been continually impressed with each one. the psp version looks decent but i don't think i'll buy another psp just for that game (i sold my first one to finance my 360 purchase and couldn't be happier i did).

however, this is one of the very very few games that may make me buckle and purchase a ps3. i don't know what i would do not being able to play one. heavenly sword doesn't even make me want a ps3 as much as r&c just because i know, for a fact, this game will be amazing. PLUS it will offer some sweet online play, which is something i don't believe heavenly sword is planning on having (last i heard anyway).
