Please please PLEASE note that the character descriptions are only **suggestions*** -- we're open to ANYONE who is interested in performing/rocking their socks off, is comfortable with improv and performance, and can play this type of game. All genders, ages, shapes, sizes, class, creeds, hobbies, food preferences welcome. We will cast whoever is the most AWESOME.
Yeah, rock on! Way to say fuck you to the system and fit the.. errr... profile? And wtf happened to the love for the 18-29 year olds?? You just know the bassist chick will get raped by the singer, while the guitarist will fap on her printed photos in episode 2. And we will be able to laugh at the chubby drummer and the crazy nerdy miscellaneous guy.

We love 18-29 year olds. We love everyone. We were going to just cast actors but thought it would be really fun if gamers wanted to be a part of the project. After all, you already know how to play the game! Now I just need you to be funny and comfortable on-camera. You'll be styled and costumed and will do several different performances and a plethora of still photo shoots. You'll be comped into to archival footage and magazine covers and lunchboxes and things like that. I don't want to give away any more secrets, but, for reals: It's going to be a blast. I'm a fun director. We have an awesome crew. Audition for us; what have you got to lose?

Why is there no other mention of this 'competition' anywhere else on the Internet? Why is the email domain 'yahoo' instead of vh1 and why oh why is the director called 'badgorilla'?

It's Ms. Director, actually. We wanted to reach out to you guys before we posted on casting boards. We have a casting director going through the usual circuits as well (hence the stereotypes - so agents can submit actors, that's how casting usually works). Wasn't looking for all the hating, just thought you might be interested in trying out. The email domain is yahoo because it's an address JUST for the casting (typical practice, actually). "Badgorilla" is a nickname from college and it makes me happy. Oh, and: it's not a competition, it's a casting for a tv campaign.
Man, I can't wait to go home and rock out on camera and sent it directly to Ms Badgorilla pandaface herself.

@GuitarAtomik: we'd only need you to be in NYC for the audition and then for several days of shooting (around 9/23 - 9/28). We can't pay for housing/travel, (I'm so sorry!) but if you can find a way to commute to NYC when we need you, we'd love to have you try out!

If you want gamers, you need to be willing to take gamers. I hate nothing more than to see an ad for a game featuring fake pretty people playing video games.
If this game's intent is to illustrate that ANYONE can be a "rock star" then I'm your guy for lead singer.
Casting this based off of preconcieved notions of a fat drummer, moussed up bassist and a sexy lead singer does ABSOLUTELY nothing for me.
I can sing, and what's more, I can ACT like a freakin' loon. Rock star antics and everything.
