I'm all for small form factor PCs. They fit great in your entertainment center as a home theater PC or a not-emulation box. But cramming a PC into a Wii's casing? Why would you want to do that?

Good reason or not, it's done. This computer contains a Celeron 1.3Ghz, 512mb RAM, and a 40GB hard drive. That's power enough to got your Virtual Console releases for not-free. The modder has also managed to add USB ports and a Wi-Fi antenna to the kit. I wonder what he did with the Wii innards.

As nifty as this mod is, there's a downfall that will become apparent if you watch the above video. It sounds like a blender chopping ice!

That's interesting, I wonder how long it will last before it breaks.

1.3Ghz Processor, 512mb RAM, 40GB HDD... sounds like a badass PC from 8 years ago... or maybe the next Wii.

mini-ITX motherboards with integrated Atom processors are pretty cheap these days. No need for fans that sound like a vacuum cleaner.

In fact... I think I might just do that!

@groebo: Yeah, man. Modders are total losers. LOL. Fuck creativity!

(I'm sure you're a regular casinova yourself.)

"I wonder what he did with the Wii innards."

He made a new Wii by shoving it into his old GameCube.

:P

@mingo... I'm not sure what a "casinova" is but I'm going to assume that you meant casanova... that said, this guy has no life... why else would you spend money doing this?.. there would be a point to this if it didn't exist but as you can get a similar size but more powerful setup for much cheaper... I just don't see how this is creative or thought provoking... if you mod something, do something that is actually creative and different... so this guy either doesn't have google or really doesn't have anything better to do with his time... but I'm well on my way to taking out the cpu, mtb and hdd from my ps3 so I can put another set of cpu, mtb and hdd into it so I can say I'm "creative"...

its called a hobby, groebo.

People do this for their own enjoyment and interest, and saying that he's a no life loser because of this is stupid.

stop being a hater.

All of you people who are criticizing why this was done must hand in any geek card that you have at the front door. It's clear that you have no idea about the geek rule of "because it can be done".

Oh, and if you think you're such hot shit that you can dis the person who did this, where's your unique PC mod? What? You don't have one? Gee, what a shock to hear that...
