Analogue Interactive has taken something timeless and made it even more timeless. Their custom Neo Geo systems (made with an original SNK Neo Geo MV-1C motherboard) are made from either walnut or ebonized ash. Wood, folks. We told you about the system when it made its debut, but now it comes in two finishes in a new rebuild, and is now offered with these lovely custom matching joysticks.

For the system, the company slimmed the original design down and reduced all the jacks on the back to one port. Simple, elegant.

Analogue says that the stick was a vision they had from day one, and that they wanted to create the Holy Grail of all Neo Geo sticks. They use authentic Seimitsu Japanese parts found in original Neo Geo arcade cabs and an identical Japanese button layout.

Want wood? Analogue Interactive's webstore has both up for order now. The system is priced at $649, and the stick is an additional $199. Pricey but probably worth it. I'd love to fondle one of these setups.

They're finally selling real-life Mario Karts

To be a kid again. Or, a 70-pound adult. That's what it'll take to enjoy the Super Mario Kart Ride-On Vehicle, available in March at Toys"R"Us for $199.99. The kart has working pedals, can go in reverse, and there are tires for on-and off-road use. Most important of all, this thing plays sounds from Mario Kart. Hot damn! I want to see videos of some kids' years being made. [Via Tiny Cartridge]more
