We gave you the heads up, so I hope you went. Dragon Quest creator Yuji Hori came to America to sign autographs at a Dragon Quest VI launch day event.
It sounds like the February 12th Palo Alto, California event was pretty cool. Above you'll see fans waiting in line, with one showing off her "Be My ValenSlime" shirt. I must have this shirt. Attendees got goodies and the opportunity to get the game a couple of days ahead of the official February 14th launch date. This is the first time DQVI has been made available outside of Japan. Finally.
One dude, a Lawarence L. of Lansing, MI, won a trivia event held by Nintendo. He was flown in to the California event to meet Hori and get his copy of the game. Lucky bastard.

Worried about storage space? Don't be. The latest Nintendo Direct tells us that Dragon Quest X will use the cloud to hold saves for this MMO, according to Inside Games. So, no messing with silly external USB storage, especially for those that have the 8GB standard Wii U system.
A new Japanese trailer also surfaced from this morning's event. It looks beautiful! Enjoy.
