Can it be true? A Platinum Games title with some marketing weight behind it? Sega is giving Bayonetta the AAA treatment in preparation for its launch on January 8, going so far as to sponsor UFC matches with the game. In addition to tying Bayonetta to a rather popular sport, Sega's also produced this snazzy new commercial.
With it being one of my most anticipated games of 2010, I'm glad Sega is putting some cash behind the promotion of this game. Whether the marketing works or not remains to be seen, but I'd say this thing has a good chance of shifting a decent amount of copies. It certainly deserves to!

It's coming out on the 8th in Europe, still on track for the 5th here. I'm really glad that a game as fucking wacky and purely Japanese as Bayonetta is getting a lot of promotional weight behind it. This needs to be kept up.

Only the guy who helped lead and create "Okami" and "Viewtiful Joe." Sure, I have issue with the character designs in "Bayonetta" but narrow-minded fools who pass this game up as tits and guns don't have any idea who's behind it. Platinum Games is essentially the new home of most of Capcom's critically acclaimed but now dead Clover Studios.
@rogueEpidemic did you play the demo? if you did then you would see how creative the art style is.. just because you are scared of hair bikini's and flashy heel guns doesn't make you more adult then the rest of us.
personally i enjoyed the demo more then the whole DMC series.. fun, poppy and gorgeous.
I am already playing the game and it is worth every hype it gets! This is the best action game I have played in a very long time! Devil May Cry can´t reach Bayonettas height!
And it plays much better than God of War. The fighting system is pure orgasm and Bayonetta herself is just a great character.

As i have played the full retail game Bayonetta is one of the best pure Action games ever...But you can't compare a pure action game with an epic action adventure game like GoW.Bayonetta is pure action there isn't much epicness in there just pure fun,GoW series are epic action and epic puzzles(adventure element)
I played the demo and didn't really like it (360 btw). I guess I just don't enjoy the combo system. Then again, it could be the character of Bayonetta... I find her extremely shallow and unbelievable. I know that's how she's supposed to be, but I like to work for my women :)
That is definitely not the reason I am looking forward to it. The game looks great and it looks like a lot of fun. Looks over the top, looks like it has it's own sense of style and looks like it knows what it is, so it works.
I love/hate the demo because it was fun but I didn't feel like I got enough out of it. Still looking forward to it, though.
@Baleur: at least you can change to a different tab while it runs, i've been to other sites where unless that ad with the tab is the active tab it won't play forcing you to eat the damn thing with every fucking video.

I don't understand the hate for this game. Why would a over the top hack'n'slash be pathetic ??? I don't feel like Platinum Games is hiding the fact that it's a sexualized broad starring the game.

Damn, what's up with some people? I'm not interested in the game myself, but people seem determined to label it as nothing more than tits and shallow gameplay. Yes, there are tits (since when was this a bad thing?), but the gameplay? Fucking over-the-top awesome. Just not good enough for me to cancel my preorder of Mass Effect 2 and NMH2.
But the usage of a La Roux song...very tempting I have to admit.
Played the demo on 360. The controller feels awkward. Other than that, it just felt like typical Japanese games. Rent for certain. Purchase to won, don't know at this point. Too bad PS3 version is bad. I could have liked the PS3 controller playing this game.
When I see people criticizing this game because of its overt sexuality, but then in the same breath praise another game in the same genre, I have trouble not cracking a smile. For better or worse, lets consider the most popular contemporaries in the genre: God of War? Tits. And straight up corny sex. Ninja Gaiden? Tits. Devil May Cry? Ever hear of Lady? tits. Seems to me it comes with the territory.
I've hated characters like Lara Croft on principle right along, but something about this game feels different. I loved the demo, the art style is sweet, and I actually like the character. She's funny.
