Battlestar Galactica composer to score Dark Void photo

Capcom's Dark Void looks really good. Really good. And now we know it will sound good, too, as it's in good hands.

Composer Bear McCreary has been enlisted to create the soundtrack for Dark Void, Capcom's upcoming third-person shooter for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Seeing as how McCreary's past works include Battlestar Galactica and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, we think he's a good fit for the sci-fi theme of Dark Void. This is his first gig as a games composer. Lucky. All the movie/TV kids are trying to get into it.

“When I got the call from Capcom to work on the music for Dark Void, I jumped at the chance to do it, considering my love for Capcom games.” said McCreary. “I have been looking for the opportunity to compose a game score for a long time, but I’ve been waiting for the right one. Dark Void’s epic story and unique gameplay drew me in immediately and I have had a lot of fun working on the project.”

The few samples we've heard of the score have been epic. McCreary is knocking it out of the park from what's been shown so far. It sounds like what run-and-gun game play with jetpacks is supposed to sound like.

Hit the jump for a video featuring McCreary and Dark Void's score. Turns out he's a Mega Man 2 fan. That earns points in my book.

Dammit. So many games that should be out already and aren't. Why do they punish us like this?

cool, it was neat seeing the video since I love Bear McCreary's stuff (we even actually had the some of the battlestar music played @ our wedding) but had never seen him before

I'm now twice as likely to check this game out when it gets released.

The flying elements of the game looks good, but everything else is mediocre.
