Last night, the single-player campaign of Battlefield: Bad Company 2premiered on GameTrailers TV, and boy, does it look awesome. The trailer above (NSFW language) shows off plenty of explosions -- just the kind of stuff that can destroy buildings, thanks to the game’s Frostbite engine. Story-wise, it appears that it’s going to be a typical military excursion: the mission seems simple enough, but nothing’s ever as easy as it sounds, and before you know it, the whole operation is FUBAR.
But that isn’t stopping me from being excited about the campaign. EA DICE hasn’t shied away from comparisons to the 800-pound gorilla of the FPS market, Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 (in fact, the Stockholm, Sweden-based developer has actively pursued them). And since I felt like the MW2 story was underwhelming (it seemed to me like an excuse to string together a bunch of increasingly implausible action sequences), I’m hoping that Bad Company 2 will deliver an experience that’s just as thrilling as MW2, but somewhat easier to follow and within the realm of feasibility.
Be sure to check back on Monday, when Hamza will post a preview of the game’s campaign mode as well as an interview with the folks at DICE. Until then, hit up our Battlefield tag for coverage of the BC2 multiplayer component. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be out for the PS3, 360, and PC on March 2nd.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what the kick-ass song is, it’s “You Think I Ain’t Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire” by Queens of the Stone Age.

@Chaos - Chocs Faints. - The QOTSA track pack was my first Rockband pack i got with my PSN card, and the Weezer pack, loves a bit of Weezer.
It's such a shame that although WE all know BC2>MW2 I would put money on it not selling anywhere near as well as MW2, simply because our nerdy hobby has been hijacked by mainstream loving douchbags who only play CoD and Madden/Fifa
Good for the sales figures of big companies, not so good when it comes to better games with less known names getting the support they deserve.
loved the squads characters in the first game, great to see it's the same guys again. Epic music, and was that a Flight Recorder in Rammsteins Reise Reise album colours that marlow picks up at about 2/3 of the way through.
im a huge me2 fan but none of their trailers have made me smile like that just did. Bring on March 10.
Wow, Preston has turned into a complete badass! I love it! I really liked the Kelly's Heroes/Three Kings story from the last game, it was a great contrast from the more serious shooters out there. This one looks just as fun.
I had my fun with Mw2, but the multiplayer just felt bland and repetitive after a while. Bc on the other hand is something I have continuously returned to. The entirety of the Battlefield series has always set the multiplayer benchmark for me and this looks like it won't dissapoint.
I liked the trailer better than MW2 shit because I felt like these guys are real soldiers. Not some cookie cutter badass. They look like friends and just real people who are just soliders. Cannot wait. PC version will rock!
This has been looking good for a while now, but the fact that they put a QOTSA track on the trailer just sold it for me. All is forgiven EA...ok maybe not ye; I still remember spore.
@Elsa - YOUS CRAZY WOMAN! That mp beta on the ps3 was the most time I put into a multiplayer game in over a year D: hell let alone on a console haha.. that was the first time I ever played a shooter on the console for more than 8 hours straight! YOU CRAZY GIRL! lol.
I too loved the mp beta, I love the push, the balance, the wide open blow a hole in the wall to knife the guy who tried to hide behind it mechanics. The tight, small, closed in maps of MW2 are a huge turn off. I can't wait for this game to drop.
I barely touched the MP in the first Bad Company, and I'm sure the same thing will apply here. If the single player is as good as it appears to be, I'll definitely get it.
I am so happy the original characters are returning, I thought I read a long time ago that they would be replaced by an all new cast. Because of that, I'm preordering this game.
Looks like a good buy and hopefully I can gather the funds for it. Looks great, and the music was awesome. I remember "...Millionaire" being in a Tony Hawk game, but I had heard it on the album beforehand. Great song, and fun to play too.

All the sp needs to be is not short and barely coherant to smash mw2 out of the water.
Also queens of the stoneage are teh roxors.
Chocs - something we agree on!

That's a bit of a shame.

Oh and I already knew the track silly.
Looks like Redford's voice actor was changed but it's ok!
Kick-ass music
