Battlefield: Bad Company 2 getting free and premium DLC photo

What's the downloadable content situation for Battlefield: Bad Company 2? Speaking to Worthplaying, senior producer Patrick Bach gave some solid information on the matter.

"We see the game as the first step to a longer experience. We have an in-game store where you get free content or you can buy new content to the game, so it's a very integral part of the game that we will have a long post-launch campaign."

"I think people will be thrilled to see what's in that already," says Bach. "On day one, you will get some really cool stuff." Interesting. Not that I'm against free content at launch, but if this is going to be a hot new trend to prevent used game sales, we need to up the ante in terms of hard drive accessibility.

Why yes, I am still rocking a 20 GB hard drive for my Xbox 360. I can't let them win. I don't exactly know who "they" are, but letting them beat me is the worst thing I could possibly do.

I tried the demo and it just wasn't my thing. I'm glad there's free DLC though.

I disliked the first Bad Company intensely, the first time I played it. But I stuck with it, and I eventially liked the game a good bit. You may want to at least rent BC2 when it comes out, it possibly could grow on you the same way.

I like when people double post and to acknowledge it they triple post. That's intelligence at it's finest.

To anyone who gets this game, I want to make something very fucking abundantly clear. In Rush, if they enemy has just set a charge, and you're the first one to get there, don't immediately try to disable the charge. That is the dumbest fucking shit you could do. It's not like the enemy is going to leave. He's still there, in a corner, waiting for your stupid ass to come marching in and plop itself down in front of him. At least chuck a grenade in there first for fuck's sake. Also, it's not the Engineer's fucking job to act as anti-infantry. Engineer is anti-armor. If the Engineer sees enemy infantry, then he can make the choice of whether to engage or not. But if you go the entire round firing at infantry and avoiding tanks, you're a fucking waste of oxygen.

And spot the enemy! Q on PC, select on PS3, and probably select on 360. Will make things so much easier for everyone.

It just seems that as soon as a post ends up on Joystiq, Destructoid puts up the same story. But Destructoid as better anyway lol.

I hope this includes new weapons, I haven't seen a game do that since GRAW 2.

Destuctiod is way better than Joystiq - because I'm banned from Joystiq after making a couple of Jew jokes.

Seriously, people wonder why I'm a bit of a troll and a Fanboy, I'm a PS3Fanboy dot com original that came here when they merged it all into joystiq and started banning people for making hilarious, yet slightly offensive jokes.

I will buy this, loved the first one, loved the beta - thanks for the free DLC.

I hated Bad Company as it took everything I loved from BF2 and tossed it aside. BF:BC2 is amazing and I've played the demo almost every night........

The Gamestop preorder is for a Limited edition.

I'm really liking the demo alot, also. I'm a fan of large maps. It's alot nicer (imo) to be spread out instead of all crammed together with everyone spawning on top of each other and running around playing grab-ass. Yeah, I'm talking about you, CoD.

It is embarrassing how much I like this game.
I must have played the demo about 30 hours so far.

Excellent sound production
Excellent destructible environments.
Very good graphics.
Projectiles kick up dust.
Bombs leave craters.
Vehicles flip and explode.
Weapon sets have good flexibility to counter changing threats and strategies.

Oh and tons of morons who think they are safe because they wear gilly suits.
Good character animation, but not great. No gore sad to say.
I wish arms and legs would go in 4 directions when you hit someone in the chest with a a 40mm rifle grenade.

Probably the only game I will buy for 60 dollars this year.
