EA DICE just revealed the minimum and recommended hardware specs for its two upcoming PC releases: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and BF: 1943.
As we imagined, both Frostbite engine-powered games will demand some oomph from fresher gaming rigs. In fact, the studio recommends no less than a Quadcore processor and a GeForce GTX 260.
If that’s a problem, don’t get too blue -- the minimum specs revealed via the official BF blog leads us to believe that a Core 2 Duo can handle the on-field destruction as well. Just don’t expect true awesomeness (or the ladies for that matter) if you plan on rolling with an older PC. Stuff explodes hard in both these games.
Click through the fold for the requirements.

well it seems a bit bit high but hell my pentinum d need replacing for a long time just hoping core i9 launches before thes games to push don the proc pricing further
However I am in the BC2 beta on my PS3 and can confirm that it's FUCKING AWESOME.
Have been neglecting it for MAg recently but it's still superb.
Enjoy playing it at super high settings fellas! Sure it's gonna rock so hard on a nice rig.
I guess it shows how awesome this game already is, considering Im liking it so much and that Im not that I never played Battlefield game "for real".
But about the specs, its understandable, given the amount of debris, smoke and bullets flying around every time the action heats up.
Cant wait for March :)
Well, gotta get a new processor now...Damnit.
Yes, he is obviously cranking out a sweet riff.
And what the fucking shit is up with the space requirements? Does anybody else see this? More than twice the amount needed for the DL version of 1943. Why they fuck would they do that. What could possible take up that much extra space. I haven't bought a PC game on a disc in forever, but it looks like I'm going to do it again.
Quads have been needed to run games really well for a while now really... the consoles are more and more processor focused and we get ports, so we end up needing processors that kick ass.
Specs seem high, especially for a port, but whatever... I meet them. I think it is finally time to get dual-GPUs though, I am just not getting the performance I want from today's games, despite having the best single-GPU card on the market before ATI's new 5000 series. That tells me these games are more and more being designed for dual-cards.
I might be crazy and get a 5970 in January when I come into some cash.
More than likely, the retail versions will stream some data off the disc, rather than install it, hence the smaller space requirements. Of course, this cannot be done in the digital download versions, so everything has to be installed on the hard disk.
