MOH:W looks like everything BF3 should have been
Well I guess not yearly. It's looking like it will be Battlefield 1 year then Medal of Honor then battlefield, repeat until infinity.
Really I hope it turns out to be BF1944 or 2143 because even CoD doesn't modern shooter every year. If EA really wants 3 modern shooters in a row than they can go pound sand.
Well go fuck yourself EA, I won't buy BF4 that's for damn sure.
Hell I haven't played BF3 since Xmas.
BF3 came out in 2011.
The BF4 beta claims to be in Fall 2013.
So BF4 will release in 2014.
That's a three year gap.
lets get back to the original designs and non realistic looking shooters.
BRING ON TIMESPLITTERS4!
Battlefield 1942 (2002)
Battlefield Vietnam (2004)
Battlefield 2 (2005)
Battlefield 2142 (2006)
Battlefield: Bad Company (2008)
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (2010)
Battlefield 3 (2011)
Battlefield 4 (2013)
The only thing worth complaining about is that this isn't Bad Company 3 when WE ALL KNOW IT SHOULD BE.
But yeah, this makes no sense. There's still, what? 3 or 4 more expansions for BF3 to be released? And that takes us into next year! They don't need to make a new one. BF3 has enough legs to go for a while.
C'mon you guys. You can do better.
And that still doesn't bring into account all the "expansions" that are supposed to be coming to BF3. Even if the last one drops on time, you still have to account for bug fixing and balancing a few months after release because lolDice. Then you get what, a few months with the game before it's time to drop $60 on BF4? Have fun with that. I'll wait for the next Bad Company.
The "beta access" for BF3 was being able to play the OPEN beta a week early. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo.
If this ain't 2143 then I will clearly not give a fuck. I'm tired of the whole modern-day-killing-sand-people-in-the-middle-east-and-finding-out-russians-are-involved.
if they do 2143 now with COD:BLOPS2 being in future people will just say they are coping them with future warfare and i would like either a BFBC3 or 2143
MoH = Tryarch dev (otherwise known as the B team).
BF = Infinity Ward dev (otherwise known as the A team).
>counting 2011 as the release year when there were less than 3 months left in the year
C'mon you guys. You can do better.
Not sure if that was directed at me, but I was quite clear in my comment that BF3 was released in October.
And if somehow the next game IS released in the fall of 2013 (which is unlikely, given that's when the beta will supposedly hit), that will have been a minimum of two full years between games. That's a pretty fair schedule in my opinion.

Again, two years between games, with constant support in between? Why are we complaining again? Would you rather have two years of support for BF3 followed by a year of dead air while we await the inevitable sequel? No support for BF3? A year of support followed by two years of nothing?
Playing the devil's advocate here -- I really have no interest in BF4, and certainly not right now -- but two years is a pretty long time for anyone to stay interested in one game. How many games have a shelf life beyond that? I imagine a lot of people will be clamoring for another Battlefield game 15 months from now...
I'll wait for the next Bad Company.
On that, we agree :)
This is so pathetic for a 27 year old man to say, but I felt really betrayed by how much the games media trumped up BF3, "multiplayer experience of the year" and all that, only to have be a big wet fart of a game with shitty maps, poor balance, and an utter lack of that intangible "Battlefield" feeling.
Expect more of that in the future.
Fuck You Ea.
I have put my faith into your hands that battlefield would be supported and provided content for years. Hell I've paid for the game twice in buying premium. but it is now clear you are going into the same two year dev cycles that have slain the call of duty games, just so you can have a shooter every year. You're just pissing on your loyal damn customers now with out the respect top even call it rain. Dicks, the lot of yah.
I do get that there are vast differences between Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3. My complaint is that Battlefield 3 felt like it was approaching Modern Warfare 3 and moving away from whatever you would consider to be its antecedent (be that Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 2). It's extremely distressing to longtime fans of the Battlefield franchise to think that this trend may continue.
Hate to break it to you Jim, but that's from Medal of Honor 2010, not Warfighter. Do a Google Image search using the URL from the header and you'll find dozen websites that will tell you which game it's from. I literally recognize the level. It's the one they used in all the pre-release demos where you play as the Rangers.
@John Johnson
You're not the only one; I really bought into the hype, especially as a longtime PC gamer. I really expected a game that would blow me away like the oh so many interviews that came out telling me it would. Sadly that didn't happen, I enjoyed it for what it was, but it was not what I expected. Makes me want to go back in time and slap my past-self silly for believing EA's bullshit.
@ctg867
That was one of the best levels in MoH imo, but I'm sure MoHW / BF4 will have the same look/feel. Only so many ways to do the US military in the desert =D.
