Looks like they want a yearly release cycle like CoD. I would've more expected it to be BF3 2011 - BF:BC3 2012 - BF4 2013 or something like that since they totally seem to just copy Activision these days.

DICE have 3 years to make BF4 that's a long normal development time also include patching and still supporting BF3.

Guys the Fall 2013 beta most likely means BF4 itself will release in Fall 2013.. the BF3 beta advertised with MOH started in fall 2011, and BF3 released one month later.. still in fall 2011
Yeah, I'm not really getting why people are up in arms about this. Battlefield 3 came out in October of 2011, and Battlefield 4 will likely release around the same time in 2013 (or early 2014). Two years of support for Battlefield 3 seems like a pretty fair deal to me.

Are you people fucking retarded? It's a 2 year life cycle with content support monthly for over a year and a ha;f after release. Almost every game has a 2 year life span (Uncharted, Infamous, Gears of war, Batman (Arkham series), Halo) They just usually arent announced so soon but they are always being worked on this fast and to equate it to the CoD model (which is honestly the same 2 year cycle as every other game just split over 2 devs) is stupid because they arent being released every year.
I think people believe that it is coming out this fall which it obviously isnt. The last MoH LE gave people access to the BF3 beta which came out a year later. The BF3 LE gives us access to the MOH beta, a year later. MoH:Warfighter gives us the BF4 beta... Go ahead and guess how far away it is...
Yep, this should have been Bad Company 3. Really this feels like a small release gap because they're going straight from 3 to 4, more than anything. And wasn't there a leak that devs at DICE were working on Mirror's Edge 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 3? Still, that probably wasn't true, because this was announced and EA said they were still looking for the right team to work on Mirror's Edge 2... Oh well. Dunno if I will be buying this :/

2143 or no purchase. I love fps games but a change of scenery is long overdue at this point. I'm sick of sand and rocks and the same guns in every game. Thats why i am excited for black ops 2, the near future setting might give the developers a little more freedom to be creative with their weaponry.

After all the shenanigans that happened with BF3, as well as the constant chicanery surrounding the Modern Warfare series, I will be getting 100% of my FPS needs from Halo. Say what you will, but I don't see Bungie/343 completely bending over their customers in the same way that Activision/EA has been doing lately. However, that's probably my pro-Halo bias speaking. Everytime I hear 'server queue' though, blood shoots from my eyeballs.
Bad Company 3, I'm never buying another "regular" Battlefield title after the clusterfuck of bullshit and mediocre gameplay that is Battlefield 3.

My complaint is that Battlefield 3 felt like it was approaching Modern Warfare 3 and moving away from whatever you would consider to be its antecedent (be that Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 2). It's extremely distressing to longtime fans of the Battlefield franchise to think that this trend may continue.

Hate to break it to you Jim, but that's from Medal of Honor 2010, not Warfighter. Do a Google Image search using the URL from the header and you'll find dozen websites that will tell you which game it's from. I literally recognize the level. It's the one they used in all the pre-release demos where you play as the Rangers.

Meanwhile, everyone is still waiting for the true successor to BF2, because there sure as hell hasn't been one yet.
Not falling for that again EA, I'm sure we'll be seeing BF4 in fall 2013 with a "week" head start for beta users or some other nonsense. They should wait until at least fall 2014 and release something else, but I understand that investors want to "compete" with CoD and the BF/MoH yearly cycle matches that.

I really expected a game that would blow me away like the oh so many interviews that came out telling me it would.
