My beef with the whole thing isn't that it was pre-order exclusive, but that you get different things depending on WHICH store you buy from.
It sounds like when it becomes free for everyone later, it will include all of the stuff, so I think I can live with this.
I know I'm dying to get my pre-ordered copy. I'm gonna mess some fools up on Wake Island.
People that want to enjoy games vs. small group of whiny, entitled bitches.
Buy the game news = got ALLL FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, maps, guns, add-on.
Except "game changer" like Vietnam
Buy the game "old" = 15$ online pass.
Having a pre-order exclusive like this is very good. Allowing others to have this content for free but later is a good way to push people to pre-order but not hamstring those who don't.
Good move EA.
Hahaha, well said.
Also this would be great news if not for it being an origin exclusive ( ea are just douchey enough to do it )
EA and DICE didn't do anything, but boy did they get some awesome attention to their game.
It's not whining about items that give no advantage.
It's standing up for what you believe in, in this case that the trend of retailer-exclusive game content is garbage and we as consumers shouldn't have to take it. Those os us who care about the games industry don't want to sit quietly while publishers slowly push things further and further, testing to see just what they can get away with. Taking core game content out prior to launch just to create DLC to nickel-and-dime us is one thing, but effectively preventing people from having access to everything that there is by making things exclusive to certain retailers is far worse.
It doesn't matter if the content is purely cosmetic and has no effect on multiplayer balance. It's about principles. If you just shrug things like this off because you think people are just petty or whining about stupid things, you're completely ignorant and part of the problem.
Palette swapped weapons for everyone! Oh noes, that shotgun does one tick more damage that the starter shotgun! No fair!
"It doesn't matter if the content is purely cosmetic and has no effect on multiplayer balance. It's about principles. If you just shrug things like this off because you think people are just petty or whining about stupid things, you're completely ignorant and part of the problem."
Then you must not buy *anything* that involves pre-order content right? Because your principles are so strong you aren't supporting pre-order content practices regardless if they are for single player or multiplayer? You've already made the distinction in the quote above that it's not about a "balance" issue it's just that pre-order content even exists. If your answer is anything but "Correct", you're part of the problem as well and everyone in this thread can disregard your ramblings.
"Christ, people bitch about the stupidest things."
Yeah, like people who bitch about others who are bitching.
"Its amazing how petty gamers are. BF blog were full of moaners. And for what three extra weapons that does not give an advantage? If you are to poor to order before release don't make excuses."
Oh, so a silencer doesn't give an advantage? Learn to read before spewing nonsense.
And all you other dumb shits moaning "I don't see what the big deal is, just pre order". Is it really that hard to see past your nose? Many won't pre order because they want to see if the game ACTUALLY RUNS before getting stuck with an unoptimized, laggy, consolized, (I can go on and on) p.o.s. pc game. See CoD BO with it's lagging/studdering, Crysis 2 with no f*ing DX11, Bad Company 2 with it's ctd's, and on and on.
By pre ordering, you're simply telling publishers that it's ok to release buggy games now and patch them later (much later or even never in a lot of cases).
If nobody complains, they wont do shit and think that everything is well and fine.
Well it's fucking not well and fine, you queefstain.
