I tend to think these timed exclusives are silly no matter who gets the better end of them, but a week isn't so bad I suppose.
I think the original article on how the PS3 version won't look as nice is in comparison to the PC. The PS3 and 360 versions are to be pretty near identical, Dice has stated.

A week seems rather short, but it does put in the mind of people that the PS3 is the system to play Battlefield on. I'd say it's a huge boost to perception and PR, as measly as a week is.

Getting it on 360. I'm certain the game will sell better on the 360, seems odd that this deal was set. The only reason I can think of is the timed exclusives COD has on the 360, which probably forces a necessary retaliation from EA.
Sick of this type of shooters, I won't be getting this or MW3. I don't think I'll miss them though with Gears of War 3, Dark Souls, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Zelda, ICO & SotC, Atelier Totori, Disgaea 4, Grand Knights History, Sonic Generations, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny etc. keeping me company.
DAMN! EA knows how to do early access! DLC an ENTIRE WEEK early on PS3 and if you spent all that extra money pre-ordering on Origin, you get int he beta TWO WHOLE DAYS EARLY.
I was looking at it for the PC... but I REALLY hate the idea of Origin, and the silly lack of a server list within game, the PS3 version is looking like the way to go.

@Rodeo: EA probably want the huge number of PS3 players that Activion pissed off with the problems in COD. It is a very smart strategy in my eyes.
Despite that, this short timed exclusives are for marketing only, as I don't mind waiting. The only people who would claim this as being some kind of advantage for a platform are the fanboys. And I yet to find a fanboy who doesn't act like an utter idiot.

Well finally a game I would prefer to play on PS3 than XBOX gets DLC earlier. But will this go against MS policy of not supporting games that don't show up on their console first or at the same time as PS3/PC? I don't think MS would be that dumb, but they must be slightly pissed at this one. But the signs were there that EA were letting the PS3 version get a little extra promotion with this game thanks to the demo we seen on TV and the co op level recently.

It's a military FPS, it will still sell double on the 360. Kind of in line with what ManWithNoName said, I think it's EA just making a point of saying that they love the PS3 customers more than Activision does.
Perhaps this is some olive branch offered to PS3 users for possible graphical "inferiority", but I find this timed trend troubling on both sides.

I approve this. It will give all the hackers with cracked PS3's more time to learn how to cheat better and ruin sony's online gaming even more.

I am glad that i am not the only one that feels timed exclusives are just silly. I look at like this. Either make the content available for everyone on every system, or make it totally exclusive. This nonsense of this system will get it a WEEK before the other is for douche waffles. But this is also comming from somone that does NOT buy extra MP content unless it is only a couple dollars.
