With EA DICE currently working on a slew of Battlefield games, including the ever-so-awesome-looking Bad Company 2, I can see why the studio wanted to hold off on pushing out Battlefield 1943 for PC.
Let's face it, the game's console brethren launched with their fair share of problems, so it's probably wise for the improved (32-person multiplayer, etc.) PC port to take its time and be ready when it's, well, ready. If that means a 2010 release, then so be it.
Exceptionally anxious Battlefield fans should take note (via Blue's News) that the game is now available for pre-order at the EA Store, if you happen to be into that sort of thing.
I should mention how A) I've heard unpleasant things about that place and B) you might as well wait for Steam to start taking reservations since there will likely be some form of a deal thrown in. I guess the big news here is that Battlefield 1943 is going to be $14.99 like it was on XBLA and PSN.
Uh, hooray for consistency?
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Seriously, only $5 more than the Mini version of Tetris seems like a steal to me.
Anyway, EA download service works very simply. Buy a game, start the download manager, it shows up. I own all the C&C3 games, purchased through it. Haven't had a problem downloading them again. The only problem is that it doesn't auto-patch to the latest version. But only Impulse and Steam do that (most of the games from GoG & D2D are patched when you get em though, but not always).
I would never buy downloadable content without physical backup on Disc.
What isn't wrong with the EA Store/ customer service.
EA couldn't handle mailing me a disc!
-They don't use the USPO - so you overpay for shipping.
-They cut off my apartment number on their shipping sticker.
-UPS said it was 'undeliverable'.
-Then UPS sent me a card (to notify me there was a package that was undeliverable) through the USPO without an apartment #, and it was delivered.
-The card got to me (a week later) after the item had been returned to sender.
-I was on hold for an hour and 15 minutes waiting, just to talk to customer service for them to do the obvious and ship the package.
-Then EA wouldn't refund the shipping for a month for the non delivered item (until I told my bank).
-You pay the highest price in the EA store no matter how long the content has been out.
Seriously I will have nothing to do with EA PC Games ever again.
So much so that when it came to buying a DX10 video card for $250/300 (then paying for a new multicore/MB/ram) - or just buying a PS3 for $250 it was a no brainier.
And Steam. Ug.
The verification codes, endless streams of letters to Steam for them to reset my password.
Having to turn off all online system security (my firewall, and unplug the router) all for the privilege of playing a game on Steam that I supposedly 'own'.
