What's the deal with the PC version of Battlefield 1943? We still don't know for sure. The long-since-presumed-dead port of DICE's uber popular PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade game is officially still on the way, but refunds are now being issued to those who want out.
Here's the word from an EA rep, courtesy of VG247: "All pre-orders can be canceled with refund at any time and we do not have any further information at this time about a release date for the PC version of Battlefield 1943." Same old same old.
My guess is DICE has its hands completely full with Battlefield 3 and the multiplayer component of Medal of Honor. If that's correct, guys, don't say anything. Even still, I'm really starting to question whether PC gamers will ever see their promised 1943 release.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I DEMAND THIS BECOME THE OFFICIAL HEADER!
How the fuck was it a scam?? Cause there was no dlc?? That game was and is worth every penny (my opinion). You could say you don't like it, but calling it a scam is ludicrous.
Also you played a 15 dollar game for 6 MONTHS and call it a scam?? Sound like money well spent to me:)
GOGO SC2 casting a bigger shadow.
"the game was unbalanced as fuck"
Umm... what? The "teams" were virtually identical, and you switch sides all the time.
Just because you weren't any good doesn't mean the game was unbalanced.
dude some of us don't have a choice, 1943 is the only fps game i can play atm, my ps3 laser drive is busted, and win7 is retarded. won't let me play 1942
As for the PC version, I'd say BC2 is a much better choice until BF3.
Nobody owes PC gamers shit.
The PC community loved the Battlefield games and were loyal to Dice and EA, but like always, EA fucks it's communities over. They can afford to now because kids will buy any game as long as it's an FPS that has online multiplayer.

Or the fact that every class in that game could wipe out a tank in little to no time? Yes i find that rather unbalanced. Go play World War II Online (The most realistic WWII game to grace the gaming world.) and see how easy it was during WWII to blast a tank to rubble. Or better yet, talk to some WWII vets that are still around, ask them, there are several in my family.
@Videodrone31:
Yes because it didnt have DLC i will continue to call it a scam. I know of quite a few of 15 dollar arcade games released on both systems that have had DLC released for it, so dont give me that bullshit. DICE could have EASILY thrown in a map pack or two with a couple maps from the original 1942. All 1943 was for is money, plan and simple. They had no intentions of supporting nor releasing anything for it.
I'm sure your a real nice human being and all, but your logic is retarded.
Clearly they weren't going for realism, the art style alone should let you know that.
Getting all bunched up. We've been forsaken folks. For years now. Give up and buy a damn
Console already.
Cry some more you damn whiny, elitist fucknuts. You are entitled to nothing, just like console gamers are entitled to nothing. Get over it.
Realism has nothing to do with balance.
It's a little unbalanced, and there are only 3 REAL maps.
BUT IT'S FUCKING 15 BUCKS. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS.
IT'S NOT BATTLEFIELD 3.
IT'S BATTLEFIELD 1943, SORTA A HD REMAKE.
