Batman studio not developing next Hitman title photo

Last week an actor’s Casting Call resume attributed the next Hitman iteration to Rocksteady Limited, the London-based developer responsible for Batman: Arkham Asylum. We didn’t like the link. Publisher Eidos has made it clear several times in recent memory that IO Interactive is developing the next Hitman game. It appears we were right to be suspicious of the resume. indeed, IO Interactive is handling the next title.

Speaking to PWGM, Eidos CEO Ian Livingstone confirmed that the Batman developer isn’t behind Hitman 5: “This is the first I've heard about it. Hitman always has been and always will be IO Interactive's baby, which it still continues to be so.”

He would later add, “Rocksteady are not involved with the development of Hitman 5."

Well, that gives us zero wiggle room. Unless, of course, Hitman 5 isn't Hitman5. Conspiracy!

As long as they stick to the Blood Money formula. Who developed that one?

Batman is so polished and amazing looking (at least on PC) and Hitman games were always so rough and unpolished that I am kind of dissapointed.

That said, it's good to keep an IP with the original developer most of the time.

Looking forward to the game either way.

Unless it's gonna be a Wii game, then it will have plenty of waggle room.
