Telling your readership to shut up, even if they speak out against you, is unprofessional, FYI, do you've already crossed that line.
"being ridiculed or called names or have their actions labeled with prejudice as a "Knight,"
He called flint a knight because his first comment was solely hitting on you, adding nothing to the discussion.
I have to ask: are you here for the attention, or to actually engage your audience? You still haven't owned up to hiding your blogs. Why are you here? Exposure to step into G4 sensationalist media?
Somebody explain.
Because it was lazily explained, and lacked research. Kenny provided simple sources that took 5 minutes to find that she could have linked or consorted. She's also done this before.
*Anyone* can spill out useless non-articles about what they "think" of something that isn't out yet, or have no experience in.. Heck, G4, Kotaku, and IGN sling non-articles daily; but some of us expect more from Dtoid. Writers like Anthony Burch and Samit set a standard: that you at least have familiarity with the subject matter, and do some research.
This is a regression of what this site used to be. A "G4-ification" if you will.
I should start freelancing for Kotaku:
"Why I'm worried about Mario 3D Land 2"
"Why I think Zelda Wii-U will underperform"
I think it's really silly to say "how dare you be concerned that you won't enjoy the game, you haven't played it yet!"
They're also not Features. They're quick 200 word news posts. Features and news posts differ on criterion.
--Sandman was used because he was one of Raimi's personal favorite villains. Putting him in the movie wasn't the problem; the problem was that he was written like a cookie cutter "victim of science" villain similar to Goblin and Doc Ock.
--Venom: Raimi didn't even want Venom in the movie, that was Sony's fault. And since Raimi didn't want a clearly better villain in his movie than Sandman, Raimi basically phoned it in with Venom.
--Goblin Jr: Yeah, Raimi wanted to wrap this up. And for the most part was doing it well up until the cheesy butler confession sequence.
Spider-Man 3's faults weren't just from having too many bad guys in the movie, the problem was shitty writing and an inept director who was too busy injecting all of his campy bullshit into Spider-Man & giving Toby all sorts of face-time instead of thinking of some creative new origins/motives for villains.

Also, are you going to write another cBlog whining about why people dont listen to you only to take the blog down again because you cant stand by your words?
And yeah, the white people and the tripping....
The sheer amount of optional objectives is overwhelming yet in a completely appropriate fashion, one that has to do with being trapped in a city full of psychopaths. It gives a sense of sometimes having to drop what you're doing because someone might die if you don't. There's no punishment for not taking up any of the side quests, but still. When you know that some psycho freak might kill an innocent because you didn't pick up a ringing phone before they did, it takes priority.
Like I said I've been up all night, so I'll just stop here before this turns into a rambling mess. Keep up the good work Ms. Prell. :)
Yes, Ms Prell must be terrified about Skyrim being a hollow, unsatisfying experience.
This article is poor but not as bad as the femshep one. *shivers at the recollection*
And you won't make a cblog. Because you hide them - which you still won't acknowledge or apologize for.
Whether it will work or not is up for us to find out, but given the reviews so far and Rocksteady's wonderful work with AA, I am quite optimistic regarding those concerns.
Jim's review mentioned something about the game's pacing not being as good as AA, and that at times the game can be too overwhelming, so I can see that some of your concerns might be true. There are times when "less is more". In fact, we've seen this sort of problem in other games (MW2 is one that comes to mind, where they added too much stuff, ending in a bloody clusterfuck - IMO, at least).
Finally, I believe that you should have at least mentioned that the developers/writers were aware of that, since it's good to have such counterpoints to balance a discussion.
Best regards,
Polite Gentleman.
On topic: Arkham City looks great, I love the open-world aspect they have thrown into the game. That was the one thing Asylum was lacking, it didn't really feel like Gotham.
If you're going to talk about Batman, at least get your facts straight.
You put it better than Ms Prell did, in a single sentence and without the 'unlikable' aspects.
I think that's why some people are irked/disappointed.
You don't write for your audience: you write for you. It's why you'll never be taken seriously, or have a meaningful career out of it. So joke around, push people's buttons, and push your agenda while it lasts.
Is this payback? G4 didn't let you whine about your agenda and now we have to deal with it?
well i read this article too, and wow, kind of a waste of time. stylishly written but totally hollow.
i'd like you to know i take no pleasure in insulting your work.
I can't even believe that article! Sophie, are you fucking serious? You whined about a FemShep vote existing, yet you wrote an article about voting in it? That doesn't make ANY FUCKING SENSE.
And just to let you know, Ms. Prell, it isn't very wise to come in the comments and attack people who have rightfully put you and your article to shame, including myself. It just makes you look silly.
How dare you play Devil's Advocate? That isn't Batman: Arkham City! I haven't even heard of that other game!
And what really burns my ass? The fact that you have an opinion, and chose to express it in a creative way!
No, you have to act like a pompous internet dullard, whose only saving grace is the fact that they'll die alone in their basement because they couldn't get the stereotypical Tv dinner open. There aren't enough of those as it is.
In all seriousness though, hell of a well written article. Entertaining as well. Got a few chuckles out of me, and that takes some doing. Keep it up!
Nobody understands me because I am so deep.
In my work I make allusions to books that nobody else has read, Music that nobody else has heard, And videogames that nobody else has played. I can't help it Because I am so much more intelligent And well-rounded Than everyone who surrounds me.
eugh. and once again black people be trolling with casual racism. or is that just you?
Arkham City probably deserves to be remembered as the best thing Paul Dini has ever written. The way he makes the different elements fit together is superb, and at the same time manages to cast the entire plot of the previous game in a new light. The characterizations are subtle and profound as well.
It could've been done as a comic, film or novel and regardless of format, it would still be one of my favorite Batman stories of all time. This is on the level of what Alan Moore did with The Killing Joke. I'm tempted to say it's better than the Nolan films but eh...on second thought that might be going a little too far. Even if it is true.
As far as the concerns laid out in the article, most of the villains have their own side quests. Like Deadshot, for instance. I did like one tiny part of his storyline and never saw anything of the guy besides getting his bio. There are a few others who I didn't even know were in the game until I saw them mentioned online. The main characters of the piece complement one another very, very well. So no, this isn't what you would describe as a Spider-man 3 situation at all.
In closing, I'd also like to mention that Sophie is a terrible human being for comparing Batman to Spider-man in the first place, and I bet if we threw a bucket of water on her she'd melt.
