I do not like GFWL just because they force me to use it on steam, not that it is a bad program but it is anoying

Man, fuck GFWL. I wish that shit would just fucking die already. If I download a game from Steam I don't want to have to run two goddamn clients at the same time. If they want to have an overlay for DRM purposes, that's fine. If they want to use it as a unified infrastructure for multiplayer, that's fine. But goddammit let me choose which one I want to use, Steam or GFWL. If I download the game from Steam it should use Steam. Period.

I don't get the hate against GfWL. It started badly, but it's perfectly decent nowadays. Achievements on PC that tie-in with my Xbox gamertag, while getting superior graphics and mouse+keyb? Yes please! Got the first Batman on PC and loved it, getting this one on PC as well.

Literal reason I can think of to dislike GFWL is that I've found it can eat at a games performance. I think the best example would be Fallout 3. There's a mod that completely disables GFWL running with the program, and I found the game runs a lot better without it. It's also just more needless DRM software for PC games. I understand Microsoft's desire to not want a portion of profit cut for Valve's client, which I think is the same reason EA is doing it as well, but it's really not helping them because most people will end up buying it over Steam anyway because that's what most PC gamers use these days to buy the newest PC games.
@Joo Campos Costa - I didn't understand the hate, either, until I tried playing Batman: Arkham Asylum again a long time after having originally purchased it. I downloaded it and installed it, and GFWL ended up getting stuck in this continual upgrade loop that I couldn't get past. I had to manually download and install the newest version of GFWL in order to get the game to work. It's very irritating that the auto-updater that's included with any given build of any given game can't actually do an automatic update after a while.
I've never had any issues with GFWL, but I also know how to use a computer so maybe things that are difficult for other people aren't as difficult for me.
I don't mind this. Games for Windows Live as a community service is alright. I like having achievements that add to my overall gamerscore which I also share with my Xbox 360 and Windows Phone. I also like the ability to message with people on GFWL or XBL. GFWL as an overall service, however, sucks. I bought Gears of War for PC through them, and it took FOREVER to download and install the damn game.
Also, why are so many people mentioning Origin in the comments? This game has NOTHING to do with EA. It'll probably come out on Steam and the GFWL website.

There's only one thing I hate about GFWL. If I need to format my PC, it's a pain to backup the saves from GFWL games. ._.
WOW not Steam?? As I didn't overlook Alice being somewhere else, this is gonna pirated for sure, but not by me, at least not on Launch.
I don't see what the big deal is. I've never had an issue with GFWL. Hell, the only DRM I've actually been thoroughly pissed off by is SecuRom.
