Batman: Arkham City suffering from corrupted saves on 360 photo

The Xbox 360 version of Batman: Arkham City is said to be costing gamers hours upon hours of progress with a save file glitch that's corrupting data. Complaints have filled a 21-page forum thread, indicating that the issue may be more common than is comfortable.

Problems seem identical across all users, with the game completely unable to recognize the file's existence. No trick or fix appears to be able to bring it back on the user end. Needless to say, customers are not happy about it.

Warner Bros. is said to be working on a fix, but there's no timeframe, nor confirmation as to whether or not the files are lost forever.

I bet the PC gamers are glad they waited.

Luckily this hasn't affected any of my saves for the game. Hope they fix this soon.

Wait I thought they fixed this? The work around a friend told me he found was starting a new game then loading the old now visibly usable save.

Let me know if this still works

Hopefully it gets patched when I finally start the game.

Ouch!! I had this happen once, while playing Resistance Fall of Man... and had to restart the game. This is why games should have multiple back up files! Such an easy thing to do.

I bet this will also happen on the PC version.

I was actually suffering a very similar issue w/ my PS3 version, but it was when I was first starting it so I didn't lose anything.

Jin Sterling? Does Jim Sterling have an evil twin brother or is it just a troll?

My xbox decided to RROD on me while entering the catwoman code...well, actually the screen froze, then froze on the xbox logo splash screen upon resetting the system twice, then it RROD'd. The best releases in quite some time and the xbox decides to die

Happened to me on PS3 and I captured around 80% of all riddler trophies. Needless to say I will not be playing this game until the skin pack comes out in early december.

I've had multiple games on my PS3--Arkham City included--warn of a data corruption. I just quit, restart the game back up, and it works just fine. But there's always that brief moment of terror that it won't every single time.

Oh man that sucks.

Shit like this can REALLLLLLY spoil a game. Personally if I'd put in 10+ hours then lost it all and had to start again, I probably wouldn't bother.

Kinda sucks if it happens before you finish, but I personally wouldn't mind doing another playthrough, even though it would be my third time through.

I'm glad this didn't occur to me during my 2 playthroughs, and challenge runs. Sorry to those who are suffering from it. Must be the DLC or something.

I was actually going to buy this game tomorrow since I get paid. But now I think I will wait for them to fix this issue, as there's nothing I hate more than losing data.

Oh well a few more days and I can get Zelda instead. Hopefully this is resolved by the time I beat that.

My DLC got corrupted, but not my save files... yet.... I'll refrain from playing the game until I'm sure it's fixed though.

They had this same complaint with the first one. Turned out people were shutting the game off during autosaves. Haven't had a problem with either one, myself.

1. Move your account and save to a USB drive
2. Put it into a PC, and got to the [Drive Letter]:\Xbox360 folder.
3. Backup your Data0001 and Data0002 files (NOT Data0000)
4. If your save corrupts, reformat the USB drive on the 360, the SAME SIZE it was assigned before
5. Copy your Data0001 and Data0002 files back to [Drive Letter]:\Xbox360

Everything will work flawlessly when you plug the drive back into your system. This may not save corrupted saves all the time, but at least you have a chance to back EVERYTHING up before something definitely does happen. You don't even cheat the system by doing this -- Everything works legitimately.

Yes, because everyone has a PC that can run the game, right? We're all made of money.

I'm getting the PC version, too, but your comment of "Don't care" doesn't help anything.

it happened to me. I wasn't that pissed off, as I was happy to just replay through the game, but I was irked briefly.

This had better not happen to my save file. I'd be fucking pissed. I've spent a substantial amount of time with the game and plan on doing so again in the future.

Even as a 360 gamer (mostly), I'm glad that I waited. Online pass Catwoman bullshit....should have spent more time on jigging the code.

I do feel bad for people who lose their save games though...that's a lot of work down the drain and is a bad feeling, I know.
