Oh yes, the wait for Batman: Arkham Asylum is nearly at an end with the game releasing this week. To celebrate the Dark Knight's return to games, Eidos has released this launch trailer. There's a bit of new footage and a whole lot of the Caped Crusader using his "detective mode" vision to view some of the exemplary review scores the game has received up to this point.
Whether or not you feel that they've been tainted by the accusations of score-fixing on the part of Eidos, you can't deny that the scores we've seen so far are very high indeed. It may not be a tremendous effort to be the best Batman game ever to be released, but it's sounding as though that very thing may have been accomplished here. I know that I can't wait to get my hands on it after the tantalizing demo.

I don't think that score-fixing is going to be an issue with this game based on the sheer volume of stellar reviews it has received. Reading some of them, the words "The next Bioshock" and "Game of the Year contender" seem to appear frequently, which makes me so much more excited for this game than any number. Amazon can't get it here it soon enough, but of course I took the free shipping because I'm a cheap bastard.
This game looks like it encompasses every single nuance we love about Batman mythology.
