Batman: Arkham Asylum 'Insane Night' DLC is out photo

Around three days ago, Eidos got around to confirming -- and detailing -- that whole “free Batman: Arkham Asylum” thing we kept talking about on Destructoid. Now that downloadable content has arrived. Earlier on the 17th, the post-release content was released across the two console downloadable services, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Store as well as Games for Windows LIVE. (People are having trouble downloading it from the latter.)

Dubbed the “Insane Night Map Pack,” and carrying a price tag of “free,” the content adds two Challenge Mode maps to the core game. One of the new maps is “Admin Secure Records Facility,” a FreeFlow combat arena. The other is the “Arkham Prison Watchtowers,” which is a map you can get your “Nocturnal Predator” on.

Have you guys tried this thing out yet? Tell us what you think about it.

I'm definitely in love with the new combat stage, it's just one big never ending fight.

Oh shit, I had forgotten about this!

TOO MUCH BROODING OVER THE FACT THAT I WISH I HAD A PSP TO PLAY DISSIDIA.

I'm not surprised! Downloading now over the proper "LIVE".

If you're a Final Fantasy fan, I really, really feel for you. I wasn't expecting too much out of this, but hot damn, I've been playing for five days straight AND I'VE ONLY BEEN PLAYING AS ONE OF THE 20 CHARACTERS.

Fuck, I feel bad, I'm really not trying to rub this in your face so much as I am trying to get you to borrow someone's PSP or something.

It's pretty badass. The silent predator is set up kind of nice and the goals are different. The fight stage has a cool twist involving lunatics that makes it pretty intense.

Over all...ITS FUCKING FREE. Just download it.

@Technophile (or anyone, really)
Are the stages from the game's story mode, or are they brand new?

My thoughts are: they suck.

The combat one is just the pre-existing place where you take down Zsaz the second time (Warden's Office) and just has lunatics in it, and the predator one just looks like all the others.

It is free though! I was just expecting new looking locales is all. Maybe next time.

This game was tasty, I never felt more like Batman then in this game. Predator Mode is the new stealth, makes you less of a wuss for hiding in the shadows, and more like a silent badass. It's obvious this game is getting a game of the year award nomination.

This is a great model. Assuming...they held back the DLC on purpose for a quick free release. Great PR, happy fuzzy warmness all around.

Can anyone recommend the PC version over the consoles? I just tricked out my PC and it hums on Crysis full settings now...:)

i've been waiting for the PC release for a while now. i might have to download a pirate version to play while i wait for this pathetically slow steam download to finish. if the DLC is free, i won't be getting it off steam that's for sure.

I was actually geeked about Insane Night until I found out just how many lunatics there were on the field at a time. I can take the leaping attacks, but oh God, the annoying gurgles made me want to tear my eardrums out.
