Did you know that free Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC is coming in the next nine days? Unless you sat watching the game's menu news ticker, you wouldn't have found out before now. The game itself is promising people that downloadable content is coming to the game, completely free of charge, but nobody knows what it is.

All we know is what we've said. The DLC costs nothing and should be available to download on September 17. Eidos is refusing to comment any further, stating that it "can't talk about any DLC at the moment."

We'll try and find out what it is in the meantime, but until we know more, keep an eye out and let us know if you find anything. Any extra time spent with the bat can't be a bad thing, especially if it costs not one thin dime.

Probably just some more challenge rooms, but hey, that's pretty good on it's own.

lol, by now you'd think that everyone would realize that pretty much this mainly intended to be a ps3 game from the sheer amount dlc released for the ps3 version. I'm guessing they couldn't get this to be an exclusive and just decided to port it to expand business.

I would tend to agree...there has to be a reason the Joker is only playable on the PS3 version...don't tell me Microsoft didn't have the funds to get some sort exclusivity and they would have been retarded not to try to shore up something...either way Microsoft just got f'd in the a!!!

If they wanted to expand the business, they would charge for it to begin with. The joker DLC would serve them no monetary gain if it became available for free on the 360 or PC. A far as we know, the Joker DLC is staying on the PS3. People wouldn't buy a new game just for dlc, they would wait till it drops in price, get it pre owned and then get the DLC, if it ever became available on the 360 or PC. Blowing 40 quid (or $60) on FREE dlc is absurd. Heck, the average Jo isn't that stupid.

Oh, and there is no mention that the PS3 is excluded in getting the DLC, (or any other platform the game is on), my guess is completely new DLC, which would be cool.

i would luagh if it was the joker challange maps. Im hoping for killer croc challenge maps. If not Callendar man and Mr. Freeze would make a nice addition, but not if any cold puns are made.

Calm the fuck down, jeebus. I am a PS3 owner (and only a ps3 owner) but I don't take every opportunity (or any opportunity) to crap on the xbox or the people who own it.

Different people like/love different things, just accept that fact dude and go play on a 360, you just might end up liking the console. Not enough to buy it, but enough to make you stop being blindly in love with your PS3. I don't have a 360, nor any intention of buying one, but I do like the console and have enjoyed playing on it.

Hell, it's cursing at you right now for making us PS3 owners look bad!! ;)

I doubt it will be Joker for 360. The DLC is for both consoles. Unless PS3 is getting some new exclusive to even it out, I would imagine the new content has to be just that, new, here before unseen content.

Or possibly the Gamestop 'Dem Bones' challenge maps.

Really, I'm hoping for all-new challenge maps. This is the first game I've played in a long time where I like the gameplay so much that I wouldn't mind seeing new challenge maps to screw around in.

How about some maps set in Gotham, Rocksteady? Or Wayne manor?

They "announced" 2 packs at the Gamestop managers conference. All they said was one is called "Insane Night" and comes out on Sept 17 and the other called "Prey in the Darkness" comes out Sept 24. One is a PS3 exclusive, while the other will be on both 360 and PS3 (I'm pretty sure PC as well, but I can't remember if he said that or not)

The content coming 9 days from now is the preorder scarecrow challenge room and the crime alley challenge room that came with the collectors edition. These maps will be for both PS3 and 360.

One week later there will be more PS3 exclusive DLC, but we don't know what its going to be yet.

My prediction for all DLC is

Shortly:
New challenge maps (confirmed)

Later:
Eventually, 360 Joker DLC
Eventually, Gamestop "exclusive" DLC to purchase (like Gears of War 2 did)

Cool DLC they COULD do but never will:
Robin challenge rooms
Gordon challenge rooms
Boss rooms (Clayface)
Extra "scenes" like "what happened to Scarecrow"
Extra costume/functionality content for story mode

I also meant to add:

Soul Calibur has shown that the Vader/Yoda "exclusive" DLC can be switched over to consoles after a certain amount of time, and purchased.

Gears of War 2 later released their "pre-order/new purchase" DLC at a later date for purchase.

This could easily happen for Batman, especially given Eidos' financial situation.

Yep! I got Bane, but shortly after release my friends told me about Scarecrow.

I meant perhaps we'll get a story where he pops back up before that (and specifically, HOW he fought off Killer Croc), and another nightmare sequence. Everyone knows he was the best part of the game, and $5 Scarecrow DLC would be a cash cow.

Agree with Magnalon.

The idea that the Joker stuff will eventually come to 360 is so plausible that it's almost predictable. I'm just glad to see the Crime Alley map coming out for DLC, though if it sucks ass like the "Dem Bones" map they shouldn't bother.

I wouldn't mind paid DLC as long as it's good, like a handful (5+) of NEW challenge maps or something that works its way into the story mode.

Actually I think it's random. Both my friend and I beat it on normal. He got Croc and I got Scarecrow and we had both read that Bane can appear too.

Also, on subject, wooo! DLC that's free for Batman. Hopefully it's good.

i smell some challenge rooms at best, perhaps some skins like Adam West Batman, or 80's Batman. Too early for joker mode to be released on 360, maybe in 3 to 6 months

I don't foresee the DLC being anything other than minor costume changes, or perhaps the ability to replay the boss fights as challenge rooms. If it was anything bigger than that, I think Eidos would have already announced it in hopes of pushing sales.

The DLC is obviously going to be a new challenge room or two, although a new Bat suit could be given... Yeah?! Either case, it's free! So we can't complain, but people will.
Also, I've been pondering how sweet it'd be to play as Harley in a challenge room or two, only in her classic jester outfit, please.
