Sure, we have heard about the Collector's Edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum before, but now we've got a picture of it! Not only that, but we are happy to report about the new and improved Batarang. Originally, it was set to be only 12", but now the weapon is a full 14" long. What more could you possibly ask for?
How about an Arkham Doctor's Journal full of 48 pages of notes on the hospital's inmates complete with an embossed leather dust jacket, a behind-the-scenes DVD, a code for the "Crime Alley" Challenge Map, and a Batarang-shaped case to store it all in. Good enough for you yet?
It appears that Batman has also been hitting up a few social networking sites as of late, including Facebook and MySpace. Hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but Twitter is where it's at, man. Here's my obligatory shameless plug, in case you were wondering when that would show up.

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
It's pretty. I like pretty things. They make me happy. I'd just like to know in advance whether I'm taking the girl of my dreams back to my place for a bit of the old rumpy pumpy this summer, or settling for her somewhat more plainer best friend.
...It's a hundred dollars?
...Damn.
Now which store in the UK will carry it, i checked the usual and none of them had the special edition for pre-order.
I think it'll be good, but I'm not entirely sure, so it isn't worth saving the $100. But it's a Batarang. D:
Still a "want but can't afford" though!
You could also pre-order it and pay it little by little before the game comes out.
And people complain about DLC! Man, these special editions are crazy. They're just a means for companies to make more money.
Don't get me wrong, some of the items included are cool, just not worth the extra cash.
It's like with the RE:5 "Collector's Edition"... I absolutely love the series and this game, a lot. Yet, I would never shell out the extra money for a Chris figure, a Kijuju chain, a BSAA patch and a "special" DVD.
Never, eeeeeever!
=)
1. Owning one, mounted or not at a life-size copy is worth the $100 for everything included. The one that WB sells on their site...

...goes for $69, before tax. And it's mounted to a plaque.
2. The price point also ensures that it's going to be kept out of kid's hands, short of the ones that have an entire neighborhood booked for lawnmowing at $20 a pop.
Think about this-- double disc, 48 page leather journal, batarang, game AND case all for $100? I feel positively ripped off by my $90 MGS4 Collector box now.
If the admin doesn't correct my post, this should do the trick.
