Looking forward to it, whatever it is. Just picked up Bastion recently and I'm impressed.
As much as I enjoy the gameplay and the art style, I've got to give a nod to the games music (it's fucking brilliant!).

I bought Bastion a while ago during a Steam sale and only got around to playing and beating it this holiday season. I was enthralled by pretty everything and really enjoyed it.
That being said, I feel as though it was fine just the way it is and really doesn't require a sequel or prequel or anything, much like I felt BioShock never needed another title in its series. It should stand on its own as its own accomplishment and need not be tampered with.

Changed the headline to be less matter-of-fact. I obviously read into the quotes too much, but in my defense, the language used by Greg (without the context of speech) and Eurogamer seemed to strongly imply a scenario where the next game would likely be something new.
WTF? Just a minute ago, the article title said that Supergiant's next game won't be a sequel to Bastion, then I come back and see a different title? The FuCK??!!
I'm really glad to hear Bastion did quite well for a downloadable title. I'm looking forward to whatever Supergiant does from now on. They've earned my respect as one of the best damn developers around.
I'd like to see them take a crack at retro (16- or 32-bit) JRPGs. I'm pleased with the way Western indie companies have been treating traditionally Japanese genres (Supergiant with Bastion, Iridium with Sequence) and I would be interested to see what more they could do in that vein.
Everyone can give a big Thank You to STEAM for making this game as successful as it is. The Christmas sale probably had most of the sales figures.

@Jack8274: That's stretching that particular sale's impact a bit without supporting information. Especially considering they offered the same sale price back in November (when I bought it off Steam) and it has performed well on XBLA, which also saw a half price sale over the holiday season.

I wish developers/publishers would take this as a hint that DRM is pointless, and not screwing over your customers actually increases sales.
This game was absolutely incredible! It was one of the best games I played all year! The soundtrack definitely put the game over the edge and made it something spectacular. Hats off to Darren Korb!
This game surprised me. I was expecting yet another ARPG / diablo clone. It's more fluid than that, and the combat is only marginally stat based. It's absolutely gorgeous, with pretty good sound, and a neat little story. I would recommend it to anyone on the fence. The reactive story-telling is overblown, but doesn't really get in the way.
I'm glad people ignored Jim Sterling's trolling and picked this up, saw how amazing it really was and enjoyed it. Supergiant Games is right up there with VALVe for me now.
I'm curious how many copies sold on Steam vs the 360.

The music alone is worth a purchase. It perfectly reflects the games mood and grit. Throw in beautiful art style and fun gameplay, and this easily becomes the best downloadable title of the year with only the Binding of Issac coming close to dethroning it.
I dunno, I think Terraria and Dungeon Defenders are better. Certainly far more play and replay value.
They could make a dick sucking simulator, and if the music was as good as it was in Bastion, I would buy it.
Helluva game, and I liked the behind-the-scenes stuff they did on Giant Bomb during development. Big ups to Supergiant Games.

Worst case, you can get Bastion for PC or even via the Chome store to play in the browser. The system requirements are minimal.

this game is incredibly good, thank good I didn't fully trust Jim's review and bought it whilst on sale. It further proved my point that I might not agree with Jim's negative scores, though if he loves a game, I'll love it too.
@Gigar: Amnesia's not a game for everyone, I love it but I can't play it for too long lest I lose my shit :P
