Baroque officially delayed until April 8th

Baroque officially delayed until April 8th photo
     Delay

You may recall me babbling all over the homepage back in January about Baroque, Atlus's upcoming Wii/PS2 RPG. I actually wrote the release date on my calendar like a ten year old (I used to do the same when I was a kid for new NES games and I wrote them on my Nintendo Power calendar!) February 26th came and went and I realized I hadn't heard a word about the game, so I had a feeling there might be a delay.

Seems I was correct -- according to the Atlus release calendar the release date has been pushed back to April 8th. I'm slightly bummed, but not by much. I'm deeply entrenched in disc three of Lost Odyssey and don't want to be distracted by a new game at the moment, so maybe it's for the best. Also, considering Super Smash Brothers Brawl hits on March 9th and will likely dwarf all smaller releases with its tsunami-like power, I'd rather see Baroque come out at a time when it can shine a bit more.

[Via Siliconera - thanks, Justin]

I'm with Dex. I can wait on this one. But still, I'm totally looking forward to this one.

Little bummed, seems like this one has a lot of interesting mechanics. But yeah, Brawl is going to dwarf many a release in March so it's probably for the best.

You're probably right, at least with me it will probably get more attention.

I think the new release date is probably a better time for this game anyway. I'm definitely eager to check it out though.

That better be in-game dialogue.

P.S. Colette! I need your advice on something. Cereal business! How should I contact you? Email, MySpace, PM? I'm never sure which one staff members prefer.

God damn this is terrible news, march 18th is in my spring break. I don't own any current gen systems yet, so I was really looking forward to this.

At least it'll give me more time to get money for it... I guess I can wait longer as long as it's not just a port of the Sega Saturn original one. :P

(By the way, I know it's a remake.)

I saw "delay" and some B word and I started cursing to myself, then I saw it wasn't brawl... haha.

I don't think this game is going to be a success.

There was a discussion about this being a roguelike... would it be worth buying Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja (another atlus game) to 'train' up on? Not really had much experience of these kind of games.
