Banjo-Tooie XBLA port dated, Stop 'n' Swop to work as originally intended photo

I have got fantastic news to share with you, fellow Banjo-Kazooie die-hards -- the Xbox LIVE Arcade port of Banjo-Tooie was given a rough release date of April by Rare earlier this morning.

My experience with the XBLA version of Banjo-Kazooie was nothing short of terrific thanks to its silky smooth frame rate and high-def presentation, and I expect the same treatment for Tooie.

Best of all, Rare says that "the original plan for Stop 'n' Swop" has been implemented in Banjo-Tooie. Fans have been waiting to hear that sentence for far too long, and I cannot wait to see what's in store for us.

Even though I own a physical copy of Banjo-Tooie, I'll certainly be getting it again on LIVE Arcade. Anyone else here thinking about double-dipping?

[Editor's note: Community member Necros has a pretty in-depth look at what Stop 'n' Swop was original intended to be, in case you need help getting up to speed.]

We need more games with hidden beta features and secret tricks and whatnot.

What games nowadays have cool stuff like that? Maybe it's a byproduct of rushed development...

My copy of Banjo-Tooie has been on my N64 for YEARS! I'm surprised that it hasn't fused itself with the console. I played the games more times than any other game I have ever played. Period. Collected all the jiggies over...10+ times...maybe more.

Can't wait to do that again on the Xbox. :D Now I don't have to worry about cartridges fusing with my systems.

Ah man, awesome. Tooie is actually my second favorite game of all time, just before Metal Gear Solid 2, so having a high def version that won't freeze on me gives me a whole pile of boners.

Epic win! I'd never played the original Banjo Kazooie until this year thanks to it being a preorder bonus with Nuts & Bolts. Absolutely brilliant. I can't believe I wrote it off as a cheap Super Mario 64 rip off for all these years.

Yeah, FUCK Canary Mary. Had to use a turbo controller to beat her. >:C

But FUK YEAH on the ungayified Stop n' Swop. I'll buy both when Tooie drops.
