If you woke up this morning desperate to experience the joys of a bear and a bird building their own flying cars, then you are in luck, friend! Rare's upcoming vehicular platformer, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, is now available on Xbox Live in demo form!
What are you waiting for? Stop reading this and go download it. Then come back and let us know what you make of it. Will the cynics shut their mouths and be humbled before a good game, or does the demo justify the initial outrage from BK purists? I can't wait, it really is that exciting.
It's not that exciting.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Banjo-Kazooie is a decade old.
And now I will go back to play Farcry 2.
...to download this early in the morning. Perhaps I will wait until five o'clock.
Yes, perhaps I shall.
OHO!
If I had been able to read any of the tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny text on my perfectly decent sized SD TV. It is not so small this should be an issue; only Dead Rising was anything like as inscrutable. And the tiny text is in massive boxes, with tons of empty space. Adding insult to injury.
What's left if you can't read it? A wacky racing game with horrific controls.
Canceling preorder.
If they wanted to make another driving game they shoulda stuck with Diddy Kong racing style, don't try and mash the two genres together..
That said. I might gamefly it, after I'm done with all the other stuff I'll play in the next two months or so.
The writing, OMG, the writing it's amazing. Rare is truly a gem of creativity. They have the best writers. Mumbo-Jumbo, Kazooie and LOG spit great lines nonstop. Any fan of the previous B-K games will be delighted with the inside jokes, and even the newbies will be entertained with the quirky, over-the-top story of a Lord of The Games who has a TV displaying Pong for a head and pits you against a mechanical witch.
The level of detail on the first game world (the only present in the demo) is staggering. And everything is interactive, not like, well, GEARS OF WAR, where you see a wooden door and can't damage it even with the more badass weapon because it's a piece of scenery. I played the Tomb Raider demo after playing Nuts & Bolts and it looked like SHIT in comparison. BKNB is the prettiest game on Xbox 360, no contest.
And the gameplay is solid action-platformer with a pint of strategy and creativity on the building of the vehicles to overcome the challenges. The game provides vehicles that can complete the objectives, but you are always left thinking "what type of vehicle could I build to score even more in this challenge?".
You guys can't see a fine damn game if it has no boobs, no guns and no explosions.
Which is fine. Gears 2 is right around the corner. Go play it and stop talking about stuff you can't appreciate.
