The Bear meets The Mouse! Errr... sorta. Okay, not really. But wouldn't that be something?

The Castle of Illusion HD remake will now be even more spectacular thanks to the knowledge that former Rare composer Grant Kirkhope is on music duty. The man has certainly been in the public eye a lot lately, appearing on a special episode of Game Grumps and releasing truncated versions of his Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie soundtracks on Bandcamp. He's also working on the upcoming Ninja Gaiden spin-off Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. Busy, busy!

Kirkhope's pretty much done with this latest project, as he announced on Twitter last week that he only had one track left. Does this news pump anyone up even more for Castle of Illusion's release this summer on PS3, 360, and PC?

It's not a trick, Michael... it's a Castle of Illusion!

Let's call Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion a false start. It tried to recapture the spirit of Castle of Illusion on SEGA Genesis, but it sadly fell short. The actual remake, on the other hand, is looking like the real d...more

Mickey springs to action in E3 Castle of Illusion trailer

The Castle of Illusion remake is coming along pretty nicely, as evidenced by the new E3 trailer above. It's pretty much everything you'd expect from an HD-ified romp, including 2.5D platforming, vibrant visuals, and promises...more

Sega really wants to get Castle of Illusion right

It can't be easy trying to do justice to a legacy as large as Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. Take in Mickey's rough patches in his last few games, and it's not hard to see why many fans would be so apprehensive to...more

Castle of Illusion remake announced for PSN, XBLA, and PC

Remember the '90s? Before our eyes ever (accidentally) set upon Disney hentai and before Mickey Mouse got thrown into a bunch of lame platformers? We had Castle of Illusion and it was enough to get me giddy to visit my grand...more

Tease me, please me, oh Castle of Illusion teaser!

The cat's pretty much out of the bag already, but if I had no idea SEGA was planning a Castle of Illusion remake, this teaser would definitely tease the sh*t out of me. It looks like Schindler's List but with sentient wooden...more

La-Mulana 2 aims to be more 'intuitive,' still hard as heck

La-Mulana was regarded by some as the hardest game ever. This isn't going to change, though Nigoro's Takami Naramura wants it to be slightly more intuitive so perhaps all those deaths don't lead to warranted frustration and ...more

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more

Addiction allegory Spate's soundtrack is available now

Spate made a bit of a stir with its release last month, if not for its attempt to tackle themes more mature than shooting bullets at beefy dudes, then for its dated representation of absinthe as it exists and is understood to...more
