I'll say one thing for Rare: the studio can make some sensational promotional material. Following the awesome Believa Piñata movies, here's a video of Banjo taking a stroll through Paris to promote Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, now available for the Xbox 360.

"Banjo himself, the real-life person that actually exists and about whom we’ve been making games, recently took a jaunt across the Channel Tunnel and we've recorded the excursion," claims Rare.

Absolutely ridiculous, but charming in every way. I have to love the rather subtle jab at "tradtional" Banjo-Kazooie gameplay, even though I never quite got to grips with the vehicular stuff myself.

Even though I dislike the new turn the series has taken, that was amazing.

And not just a regular amazing, but a Chad Concelmo "AH-MAAAAAY-ZING!"

@Squawk: Don't get me wrong; had it been the first BK I'd played I'd probably have loved it, but I can't play it without comparing it to the originals. I've tried, believe me, but I just can't.
I realize that it's a completely different game, but I just cannot get past the fact that they've removed most of the platforming. Here we had two games that were the absolute pinnacle of their genre (IMO) and Rare decide to completely shitcan them. Sorry, but I'm just not that good of a person to forgive that.

Also, I found LBP more enjoyable in terms of creativity, tbh. As much as I hate to admit it.

Flame away. =)

Me and Squawk, we think alike.

At first, the N&B demo turned me off right away with the first challenge I tried and my immense failure at it. But then, I played it about a week later with a friend over and had an absolute blast. So now, I picked it up a few days ago, nearly a week ago, and I'm having an absolute blast with it. Every vehicle I create controls the way I expect it too, while keeping physics in mind, and it's forgiving enough that you can't fuck up a vehicle TOO bad.

Honestly, it's a fantastic game filled to the brim with shit to do and stuff to see, and I spend at least 20% of my time wandering around on foot, exploring the nooks and crannys of the levels.

So for the non-creative and those who can't just accept the game for what it is and see that it's a fantastic and unique game for what it is, sure, you won't like it. But goddamn does that suck for you.

hahaha.

I love this game. It's incredibly fun. I like the challenges that you can use custom vehicles for... I go in and make a vehicle that I know can do a good job and it always does. It's fun using my own creativity to complete missions in a game. N&B leaves it up to the player... I like that.

Too bad that's not how you get Jiggies in the game. Then I might actually want to play it. The "Jiggy bank" was an awful idea.

Looks like that was old Banjo. New Banjo's pointy nose and attitude worries me.
