Band Hero pre-order bonus for Band Hero: 2 free songs photo

This isn't that big of a deal, but we thought we'd let you know as a bit of a public service. Well, I guess it would be a big deal if you were a Taylor Swift fan.

If you were planning on getting Band Hero this November (limit 2 per household!), you might see about getting it at GameStop, where it seems that they will offer two free songs as a pre-order bonus. This deal is available both online and in-store. Online, they'll email you a code and instructions. If you get it in the store, you'll receive a card with your codes when you pick the game up.

These couple of songs might take the sting off the $199.99 price tag for the full band kit.

Anyone out there plan on getting Band Hero?

Over saturation is awesome.

I wouldn't buy it if it came with a free actual guitar, bass and drum kit and a free blowjob every night for the rest of my life from a succession of nubile 21 year old groupies.

Well, maybe the groupies would convince me. But you get what I'm saying.

Wait, so Band Hero is just Guitar Hero: Rock Band?

Not this time...you've tricked me before with your fancy plastic instruments and mediocre playlists...but not this time.

I'm sorry, but The Beatles: Rock Band is taking my music game money this year.

I'm confused now... what's the point of Guitar Hero 5? So glad I stopped playing these types of games. It's like the DDR craze but worse.

Who is making Band Hero? Actimonix? Harmovision?

Yeah but, why does this even exists?

Wasn't this GH:WT? what is GH5 then? *Squints eyes to understand*

I understand Rock Band 1, 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. I bought RB1 because it kicked GH3's butt, RB2 because I could keep all my songs, and Beatles:RB because it's the one band that can carry a dedicated game with their music career.

As I understand it, Band Hero is targeted towards the Disney Channel demographic (High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers) as opposed to the more teen/adult demographic Guitar Hero and Rock Band generally push for.

Yeah, dmgi's got the idea. Guitar Hero is going to be Activision's "core" music game series. Band Hero has identical gameplay, just with a song list aimed more at the 8-year old girls and soccer moms - the people that think playing plastic instruments looks fun, but don't want to play Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold.

BTW, GameStop's running the same deal for GH5 and DJ Hero (two free downloads with preorder), and a similar one (three free downloads) for Rock Band: Beatles.

I'm more excited for what I've seen of this game's playlist so far than any Guitar Hero playlist. However, I won't be buying it because getting good at all these band games is starting to feel like a second job.

I really want to see a Pink Floyd: Rock Band game be released. So far, most Guitar Hero and Rock Band games have been pretty light, but I think a Pink Floyd-themed game would be a darker, more mature game, and an excellent counterpoint to The Beatles: Rock Band. Instead of chronicling the band's history, it could be broken up by album, with each album like a separate career or something, so you could play through Dark Side of the Moon and then The Wall, and so on with each album having different overall theme to it. They could have animations like the ones that were in The Wall movie. That would be the next generation of music games.

So are there any pictures of these new reincarnated instruments and whatnot that cost $10 more than last year? Frankly as Gamestoppo I have to say that the oversaturation on full band set-ups is some bullshit and needs to stop. Our back rooms aren't big enough to house all the left over World Tour and RB sets. But now there's going to be DJ Hero sets and Band Hero sets and Beatles sets and a little bit of the GH 5 sets. Oh, and I bet those Modern Warfare 2 Prestige editions are gonna take up a shit load of space also. Activision is literally flooding the stores with product.

@fozzyozzy: Why are you buying the full band sets for every music game? All you really need is Rock Band drums and two guitar controllers.

This is just Guitar Hero for people who don't like music, but do like The X Factor.

Don't forget about Tony Hawk Ride and it's full-sized skateboard controller.

Arkhon, I'm saying this as someone who's gotta work the christmas rush at GameStop with a stockroom roughly the size of a children's bedroom. Imagine trying to keep all that crap in stock-- multi-platform no less. I'm fine with my generation 1 RB drums.

Oh, and I left out Tony Hawk's ride bundle.
