If not i will become an incredibly sad Muad. And i cant think about Holmes teaching a child to ride a bike becuse i just imagine you sneaking up behind him wearing a Hard gay outfit (you look fabolous in it btw)
Also, my that's a cheeky grin on that skellington!
Frankly, though you see a lot of whining about DLC online, publishers wouldn't be pushing DLC business models so hard if it wasn't such a guaranteed money-maker, and it's the consumers' fault for that. The best form of protest you can make about DLC models is to a) not purchase the DLC, and b) not purchase a game that relies on purchasing DLC to feel like a full game. All too often people whine and complain, and then go out and buy the damn DLC anyway.
Is it really? Becuse i went looking for confirmation on that right away but all i heard was rumours and only offical things about the ipad
@Stealth
Even if they sell frilly anime outfits to the characters? How about if they sell a dlc that turns the game into a unpopular jrpg. I know you love those games in a vain attempt at etching out a personality for yourself.
so they can add as much dlc as they want so long as it's extra content.
that is if they don't ask full price for this game.
seeing that this is a remake, they didn't have to create anything from scratch. so a lower starting price seems fair.
DLC ruined this gaming generation for me and "everything needs multiplayer" state of design.
Shut up and take my money!
Announce DLC before a game's release, and you've just made me decide to wait an indeterminate amount of time until your inevitable complete edition of said game gets packaged and sold at a steep discount. And that's if I even want your game anymore once the hype train rolls through town.
Baldur's Gate? No problem. I'll roll with my GOG version of the original until then.
P.S. Suck my:

If they had DLC capabilities back then, that sh*t would have been $15. And I probably would have paid it. Would have been grumpy and whispered snarky comments the whole time it was downloading, but would have done it.

New quests, characters and places to go. For a decent price, it could work.
BUT, an it's a big but(t), it would also be a nice idea to sell this said DLC to the people who have the regular game, as a new expansion or something. I can imagine that being hard to do, and maybe not very lucrative, but it would be the perfect way to shut up the whiners.
Well, I sincerely hope all this paves the way for a whole new baldur's gate game. THAT'S what I want.
The EE will launch with all of the original content, and, possibly, some (optional) new extra content as well. I have no idea why DLC freaks you people out so much. The fact that new content will later become available does not take away from the original product.
@Themuad
The PC is the original version announced, and it is the lead platform for BGEE. Check Trent Oster's Twitter. He's said this about 10 bajillion times.
then i was like okay das cool
Then I remember this was a fucking iPad game so I laughed to myself.
Jesus i should clearly have looked closer at it. Thats what i get for not using twitter. Well him happy about it, so im gonna do some heroin and watch abuse pornografy
And yes why do people freak out so much about DLC? Fallout new vegas has fantastic dlc, they are just another word for expansion packs when things are good.
Like all those "improvements" Diablo 3 got post launch? yay...
In this case there IS a complete game on sale. It's called "Baldur's Gate". These extras are being made NOW, some YEARS after the game was finished.
It could set an interesting precedent if it goes well...
@The Maud
Trolling Stealth huh? Good luck, I hear he's not very good at that.
And you got beef with JRPGS?!?! Man how are we ever gonna settle that dust? You never play Xenogears or something?
I can only think of 2 situations that DLC is developed :
1. The game is being sold unfinished.... BOO to that! I don't want to send the message that I'm okay with that, in any form or fashion. At the very least this type of DLC should be 100% FREE. When people pay for these types of games it certainly lowers standards for QUALITY in games. No wonder a mass of recent releases have been so bland. It perpetuates the whole, "Oh, we'll fix that in DLC attitude".
2. Greed, errr I mean extending the LIFE of the game..... BOO to that too! That is complete and utter bullshit. It's an excuse to get more money out of a product with very little effort on their part, yet they charge "standard" prices that are bloated in every possible way. I try to avoid games that use paid DLC because they are now trying to force it on consumers by using it to finish story lines and wrap up loose ends. If I can't finish the game and get every piece of the story for the intro price them I'm not interested.
I feel like its my responsibility as a paying customer to stand my ground, but all the tweens, or whatever those kids are called these days, will buy it up with their parents money anyways.... so meh. I still don't see where this magical freemium/DLC model is fixing ANYTHING that is wrong with the games industry.
Yo EA. THIS.
I'm just going to say its a bad idea atm.

I played and completed the Baldur's Gate experience over a decade ago. That experience comprised of the original, Shadow of Amn and the Baal expansion. So no, this DLC doesn't preclude you from enjoying the full experience; but since you refuse to play it I guess you'll never know.
Keep fighting the power, rebel, even if you're flailing in the dark.
