Bad Company community maps available on Marketplace and PSN (Update) photo
     PSN

A billion years ago, fans’ of Battlefield: Bad Company were give the opportunity to vote for two maps that would eventually be included in a free map pack put out by the developer, DICE. The choices were a span of single player levels that would be outfitted for the insanely solid, deep, and rich multiplayer environment that Bad Company provides. Today, the map pack has stumbled its way onto Xbox Live Marketplace.

The two levels picked by fans were “Acta Non Verba” and “Par for the Course.” DICE chose two additional levels (“Ghost Town,” “Crossing Over”) to toss into the free offering. Free is always good, especially when coupled with long-term support.

UPDATE: The maps are available on PSNl, but are included in an automatic update that also increases the performance of the title as well as adds Trophy support.

Change log:

  • Ticket count has been increased for all Conquest maps to make for longer rounds.
  • Find custom match on Conquest was updated to match specified maps better.
  • Knife melee no longer instantly kills friendly’s and will take two swipes.
  • Bullets and knives now go through undergrowth and tree leaves.
  • Shotgun damage in distance has been reduced, but is still just as powerful in closer range.
  • Savior Trophy requirements has been tweaked.  It will be awarded when you kill an enemy that attacks a teammate and damaged them by 20% or more.
  • Drawing weapon time after sprinting is reduced to SP times to improve pace of action.
  • AA guns have less deviation and more damage to improve balance vs Gunships.
  • Fixed VO to allow English on all teams.
  • Miscellaneous server improvements.

Gunships

  • Hand weapon damage has been lowered against Gunships, but .50 Cal weapons on Vehicles retain their damage against the Gunships.
  • Missile speeds for the pilot has been increased.
  • Gunner Machine Gun’s time to overheat increased with splash damage has been  reduced.
  • Gunships wont explode when touching one tree and will now take damage based on the speed of the Gunship. This means that if you are flying very slowly you can knock over trees and take zero damage, but if you're at top speed 4-5 trees will destroy your Gunship.
  • Gunship pilots when close to or on the ground will count as a kill for Recon Kit’s using the Laser Designator.

Obviously, it is a joke, as in, a game cannot be ancient, but it is hard to understand whether you mean the game is too old, or not actually old, or just plain old. Also, olds.

The way I got the maps was to just load up the game, and accept the latest update (on PS3). After I got the latest game update, the maps all showed up just fine.

Brad: Yeah, it's an automatic update (at least on the PSN) and it has been available since the 30th.
