Bad Company 2 PC beta not dead, just running late photo

It's reassuring to hear that most people are loving Battlefield: Bad Company 2, or at least what they've seen of it through the limited scope of the beta. I don't say that as someone who wishes ill of Infinity Ward; quite the opposite. The more competition between war-based shooters, the better.

The original plan was for the PC beta to unleash itself in December, but that's become a no-go -- it's now "very early" 2010. EA DICE has said the aforementioned PlayStation 3 beta is so popular, the studio wants to "drastically increase" the capacity of the PC version.

Those with capable machines will want to pay attention, as this will be the one to get into. It supports 32 players, DirectX 11, and those dedicated ranked servers you've all been clamoring for, among other things.

hopefully the PC version should look a lot more polished than the PS3 version I've been playing. texture pop in, major aliasing issues and input delay makes Tom a sad boy :(

nice to hear that some devs actually listed to the gamers specific to that platform and try to give them what makes them happy! :)

I don't understand why they don't start the beta now and then release more keys in January when they have all the servers and bandwidth to handle the load. Still, good news - more time to play L4D2.

It looks sweet. Where do people usually get the beta keys?

"It supports 32 players..."

*sigh* I guess it's back to waiting for Battlefield 3.

I'm totally looking forward this, my hearth almost melted when I saw this good news in one of DICE's blogs. :3

After playing among all kind of scenarios I can say that modern time is far my favorite. Freaking loving Modern Warfare rigth now, and I just hope another great single-player campaing for this game too, though the multi is a must-have.

Besides, I wanna see by myself if Bad Company 2 looks as good as it shows in videos and screens, or if it's just that lovely motion blur which people are gasping right now. As far as I saw in the Play3 beta videos the textures aren't so good but still is not the full game and most of the time there are just crappy videos.

Only 32 players? WTF happened there? BF2 supported 64. Son of a bitch.

@People discussing 32 players

This is a BETA. Not a DEMO. Distinct difference. The final version on PC will probably include 64. Just right now they have more pressing things to test than whether their servers can handle the load of 64 beta-testing games.

No the plan is to have 32 players on release. What you're saying makes no sense anyway, do all the balance/performance testing for a 64 player game using 32 players? What?
