I'm a huge fan of the Parasite Eve games and oh-so-happy that a new one is on the way, even if it's on the PSP. I've been keeping away from the plot up until this trailer, so not too sure what's going on other than that Aya Brea can do what the Agents do in The Matrix.

The 3rd Birthday is looking quite amazing. Loving the dark style the series has maintained here. I also like how Aya's pants represent her health and get ripped to shreds the more damage she takes.

What do you think of the game?

Ooh, looks sweet. Never finished the second one but I'll have to keep this new one on the radar.

Narrator could have used some coffee though. Or maybe a hit of ecstasy.

If there's one thing Square is consistently good at, it's making sexy females.

I'm really pumped for this. Loving the music and overall feel of this game. :)

Meh meh meh how dare you have to watch an ad! Too bad there's no way you can multie task and look at something else until the ad is over. Everything should be free like in Communism! HURP

I love how they went back to the PE1-style of music.

I need this game in my PSP right now.

Why they chose PSP over the PSN is beyond me.

I want this game but my attention span for my PSP games lasts about as long as it takes to finish that plane ride or to take a dump.

@ Hamza: While I disagree with the douchebag up above, I must admit it would probably be better if there was more diversity within the ads. The amount of times I saw the Kane and Lynch 2 ad over the past few weeks honestly made me never want to go near the game. I couldn't stand it.

I liked that week where you just press play and boom no ads. But I guess we are forced to see through this Centurion ad now. How many times did Kane/Lynch play, it is the repetitious nature of the ads which just kill it.

As for the game, I miss the whole HUGE DOME/GRID battle system that the old game had.

I remember when adblock used to block those gay ads :(

Man I can't wait for this. I'll miss the slower explorey parts of 2 but as long as there's a grip of weapons and some sort of rpg number stuff I'm good <3

I'm actually surprised reading some of these comments. I know it's only anecdotal evidence from a single person, but I usually only see maybe one ad a month at most while watching Destructoid videos. I don't have anything special beyond the latest version of Firefox and AdBlock except maybe for some custom filters... Maybe I'm just lucky or click the right videos?

That aside, I can see a lot of people trying to beat this game with one health point.

"...Aya's pants represent her health and get ripped to shreds the more damage she takes." If I were their marketing department, this is the only bullet point I would need.

*sigh* I really only play PSP when I have to do a lot of bus commuting, and at the moment, it's not the case. I'm a little surprised they're not doing a PSN version - it seems like the audience would be wider and the costs would be less.

Thanks Hamza. We needed someone do offset Jim's disdain for the psp, and if the old Parasite Eve games aren't on the PSN they bloody well should be.

It's not going to be an RPG, it's going to be a shooter/action game. Like Dirge of Cerebrus (sp?), but not shitty, hopefully.

Guys, please buy this game in droves so that we can eventually get another proper console RPG PE. Buy two copies, I'll *reimburse you.

Looks pretty decent, although I didn't really notice many powers besides the taking over bodies one. Even though I've always been a huge fan of the series, and still regularly listen to Out of Phase/Primal Eyes on my MP3 player. I highly doubt I'll be running out to the store to get a PSP (again) anytime soon. Too bad too, Square-Enix needed a win in my book.

It's unfortunate that this game looks more like PE2 than PE1. I really really hated the Resident Evil controls in PE2, they make me want to choke someone.

I'll probably still check this out.

Despite being marketed as a shooting game, there are definitely movies that say "EXP" after Aya kills an enemy. I think they're trying to avoid the word "RPG." Even Nintendo did it with DQIX, calling it an "Adventure" game.

I was sold on this even when it was first being announced over a year ago. Each of the 2 previous games had a unique and compelling story thrown into the mix and this is no exception. Gameplay looks pretty straightforward and grows off of 2's...I just hope her powers from the last two games make a return...they were fun!

If only I had a PSP...
I'm a big fan of the original two, the first being one of my earliest PS1 games. Played them a lot. I'll probably emulate it if I can't find a PSP for cheap.

I'm excited for this game, the PSP does have a lot of interesting games I'm looking forward to coming out, Kingdom Hearts, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and now this... I'm certainly getting my values worth with my PSP, hopefully they use their brains and release the first two games on PSN first. IF they were really crafty they should have a collectors edition with two free downloads of them. Personally I think all new UMD games should come with free downloads of their games so you can get them on PSN, but that's just me I guess.

Still progress, since a few years ago we were saying "even if it's on some Japanese mobile phone service we'll probably never see."

It's the official third game in the series, so you're not wrong. It's described as "an RPG with third person shooter elements", so I'm guessing it will be 60% a shooter with RPG stats, abilities, and exp. Like SE's version of Mass Effect. Whatever it's like, I'm buying it.

I really want to be exicted for this, but I'm not much of a fan of how they've changed Aya's look and the short clips of gameplay footage look like PE has taken yet another leap into the action genre. I loved PE and PE2, this is looking... eh. I so, so want to be excited but this looks liek it has about as much to do with the first two games as Resi 4 had to do with the first three Resi Evil games, and that's not a good thing to me.

I just hope they get the controls right. It just seems like something that may be easy to mess up with this kind of game on the Psp.
Also, ive never played the previous games, so putting them on Psn would be cool, Square.

I hate the narrator. They should have had a female do it, so viewers would think Aya was talking. Fail marketing.

Beyond that, this trailer still doesn't even explain WTF is going on. They definitely should've touched on shit that happened in the original games.

It would've been easy with an Aya narrator instead of some random dude talking who doesn't even sound right! Who thought of that?! No wonder there's no gameplay dialogue sounds. The casting director was awful. How is anyone who's never played the series ever going to open to such an awesome game if they still have no idea what's going on?

Fail.
Fail.
Fail written all over this.

... Thankfully, Parasite Eve is so awesome that original supporters of the series will love it regardless. ;-)
