AX 09: NIS America is looking for an editor...now photo

NIS America is looking for a new editor for their localization staff, as one is leaving to teach English in Japan. They are asking for editors here at Anime Expo in their industry panel today.  Here's how bad they want someone: they have three computers at the ready right here, waiting for potential employee contact information.

They will be contacting people over the next couple of months from this contact list gathered at the event. They will be sending out a sample text edit soon, as a sort of employment test.

What they're looking for: They don't need a degree holder, just someone smart. Someone who knows games and this culture. Appealing to their fanbase? Good call, NIS.

Um, I actually just applied as a copy editor for Nexon. Santa Ana is kind of far, but I think I may just apply.

Huh, I'd love to apply if I could do it, say, online. I can't read Japanese at all, and if it was roughly translated, I can at least pare down the basic meaning.

*needs a job* =P

@Doomsday Forte: you can. I just did. Go here. You should note that they are only taking local applications, so only apply if you live in the Los Angeles area. And if you do, why aren't you a part of the DtoidLA crew?

Balls.

I could actually do this, but live in Colorado which is very much NOT a part of California.

That's pretty cool. Will The Netherlands do?

Will they consider those who are willing to relocate? This is my dream job, and I sure do need a job right now. :\

@Dexter: Aww man. I live way out in Indiana. There isn't even a DToid Midwest or anything (that I know of)! ;_;

@Ashley: I don't see why not, but I'm not the one in charge of hiring at NIS...

@Doomsday Forte: This is the closest to you, I think.

@Ashley: You would leave your beloved Anthony just for a job at NIS?

@Dexter345: He's the one who coerced me into doing it! He told me I needed to reach for my dreams!

He wouldn't be trying to get rid of me, would he? Hm..

Oh hey, so there is something somewhat close to me. Cincinnati's better than anything, as there's not much else.

I'm starting to wonder how many Hoosier DToiders there are here. *muse*

I think Oklahoma would be too far of a commute. Shame.

Good thing. They've needed one since the start.

They don't need a degree at all? Are you serious? I guess the articles are all written casually, and video gamers don't really care for grammar.

I'm smart and I'm only in my second year of college. I could do it if I were into this kind of thing more.

Man. I know Japanese and I'd love to put my Physics degree to use by being a... game proofreader... but it's local applicants, only. :'(
