This is unnecessary and everything else isn't worth the price to me. Though no doubt, fans of the series might eat it up.

So this is Europe only right? That's a shame, I just preordered the collectors edition here in the states and I would much rather get this version, if only for the model SLS AMG, I mean the model GT-R that I'm getting is cool and all, I'd just rather have the Mercedes than the Nissan.
I thought that I was so sick of waiting for this game that there would be no way for Sony to get me interested in dishing out money for it. The NA collectors edition burned a hole right through my wallet though.
Thank God we got the Nissan here though. I fricken hate Mercedes even more than I hate BMW's. I might have turned my nose up at it like I was Jim Sterling being offered a free 3D TV.

if you are a Fan of this franchise...a passioned one, every single buck is worth it.
Its a homage to all fans.
Most good coffee table books are expensive enough and a guide a magazine..nice.
The metal box is awesome too...some kind of GoW3 Pandoras Box.
The Usb stick a mercedes car key...nice too.
Its a love letter to all GT fans...

Hmm wonder if they'll be an American or Japanese themed collectors edition. Especially considering Polyphony developed the GT-R's interface, granted the GT-R is a little stale now though.

Thing is GT is not about vehicle damage, it's about THE DRIVING, not the race. It's a DRIVING game rather than the RACING games you listed.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of Forza or PGR, they were good racing games, but GT is the DRIVING game.
It's about each and every corner, how you handle it, not how damaged your car is from the last laps, how you take each and every corner, shaving off hundredths of seconds and beating your best time. Forza, PGR etc are about racing and winning, GT is just about the driving.
And if I hear "wah wah no oversteer-understeer" again i'm gonna screem. Oversteer and understeer, correctly in relation to the car your driving is in GT, has been since the PS1 and is realistic.
You want every rear wheel drive car to give big powerslides round every corner, action packed, sideways racing! - you're not looking for Gran Turismo.
You want a car to drive LIKE IT'S REAL COUNTERPART - you're looking for Gran Turismo.
