Awesome animated recreation of Zelda 1 boss battle

12:30 PM on 12.28.2012

I'm surprised I haven't been paying all that much attention to Read Only Memory, an animated collaboration between Shamoozal and GoNintendo that has been running since July 2010. Shame on me, because this stuff is great!

Basically, they are sub-minute-long shorts that recreate memorable scenes from Nintendo games or explore other elements of Nintendo culture. The latest episode above, which caps off the second season of the show, adapts Link's battle with Aquamentus, the boss of the first dungeon in the original Zelda.

They're short and charming, and you ought to give 'em all a view. Go Shamoozal's site to catch up on all the previous episodes, and be sure to follow Shamoozal on Facebook.
