A chicken and a priest walk into a bar. The bartender says, “How about that dashboard update that’s coming in November?” I’m not witty enough to think of two separate retorts for a bad joke, but hopefully you get the gist of it. Today,
Gamespot pointed out that a banner ad on the Xbox Live dashboard reveals that the “New Xbox Experience” update will be arriving in November.
The ad (pictured above) is for
Rock Band 2 and is quite clear as to what Microsoft’s “late fall” reference really means. Of course this isn’t official confirmation, but the writing is on the wall. Microsoft's response at the moment is "we don't have any more details to announce at this time."
As a reminder, the preparations for this update
will be happening this Monday. It will render Xbox Live, the “My Xbox” portion of the official page and the Xbox forums completely useless in some capacity for up to 24 hours. I’ve just now decided that I want to use the downtime to perfect my
baking skills instead of
cheating in
Fable 2’s Pub Games.
At least now we have a target to shoot for in regards to the New Xbox Experience. When will you start getting excited? Right now, or late October?
Spring. Summer. Autumn. Winter.
I thought fall was part of Autumn... but November is not autumn.
