Avalanche Studios dropping 20 more employees photo

Uh oh. Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Just Cause 2) is letting roughly 20 more employees go in the face of the global economic crisis, bringing the macabre tally to a staggering 97 for the studio since October.

"It is a difficult business climate, but this is not nearly on the scale of the redundancies last year," Avalanche CEO Christofer Sundberg told GI.biz.

The eventual loss of these 20 employees -- they’ve been handed three-month notices -- won’t affect Just Cause 2, The Hunter, or a mysterious unannounced third project at the studio. Sundberg mentioned that Just Cause 2 would be at E3 this year, which seems to indicate everything is still on schedule.

As always, it’s terrible to report this kind of stuff. Best of luck, Avalanche crew.

Yeah right, "won't affect Just Cause 2, the Hunter, or a mysterious unannounced third project."

Someone hands me a notice saying I'm not going to have a job in three months, I no longer give a shit about the product they are selling.

Except Hoyt414...if the game performs well it'll be easier getting a new job with it on your resume then "Worked on that crappy Just Cause 2 game"

Y'know, one way to get out of this situation would be to have the media stop using phrases like "global economic crisis." You're just perpetuating the problem with your constant hyperbole.
