This is one of the best RPGs in years and years - I daresay a fair bit better than Xenoblade and The Last Story. It's mad how many people I see and meet who complain loudly about the dearth of excellent JRPGs since the PS2 era, but then refuse to play the portable masterpieces this generation has put out.
wow, I'm really glad I picked it up when I did. That game is great, but if it was $75 I probably would have passed on it and missed out.
You gotta be kidding, right? I picked up a used copy for $20 bucks about 3 weeks ago here in town at a used games store.
I will say though that after playing through it, I would happily pay around up to 60$ for it. It is extremely well done. Pretty amazing actually.

One of the best 16bit style rpgs I've ever played. Great game. Wouldn't pay more than 35 though. Too soon. Maybe in 10 years if I lost my copy and was in the mood, you get $75 outta me. But probably not.
Glad I got it when I did last year. It only cost me $30 or so used on Amazon. I sold it for around the same price after I finished it. Guess I should've held onto it, right?
You know what I did, I sold my copy hoping that I would run into a copy that had the soundtrack, only to find how expensive the game is second hand, especially almost a year later, so in other words, yes please.
I was watching this game with interest pre release, and then it got lost in the derth of 2011 releases....

Just picked this up via a friend and am glad I was able to find it. Have heard nothing but awesome stuff about it.
Got it day one, I've traded many games since bu Atlus makes keepers. If you liked the best of SNES and PS2 JRPGs, you need to play this game.
Problem with the game is it wasn't in print all that long.. I mean its not even a year old yet. This wouldn't be happening if it didn't just come and go like that..
It reminds me of the last game in the original .Hack series.. Game came out and it was out of print in like.. A month.. then Gamestop and other places either wouldn't lower the price, or would sell used copies for way over the original asking price. Only reason I missed that game (and it still pisses me off to this day that I did)

I love finding valuable games at pawnshops and flea markets.. I recently got conker reloaded for $10 and pikmin 2 for $3.. both m.I.b.!
For a few years I thought it was safe getting an Atlus game. Stay in print at least more than once. Then the one time I figured "I don't have the money, I'll just wait" I see the game go out of print. GG Atlus. Got Etrian Oddysey 3 at launch, rarely play it and it was in print longer than this, a game that I probably would actually play.
Holy crap how did I not know about this until now, looks like I should sell my still sealed copy. Incoming ebay auction in 3... 2... 1...
God, I hope they reprint this. I wanted to buy this the first time around, but didn't have the budget for it (it was competing with...something I forget what. Portal, maybe?) I'll have to poke around, the midwest is usually pretty good for finding copies of otherwise hard-to-find games due to low demand vs. supply, but if not, dang.

I got this game day one, so for me I'd obviously pass. But it was a fantastic game, and I'm shocked it went out of print so fast considering it was released about this time last year. But that's how Atlus games have always been I guess. Anyway, its great for anyone who hasn't gotten a chance to play this game, as it is one of the better JRPGs in recent years.
I got this new while it was still available and never ever looked back. One of best RPG I've played lately (granted, I'm not playing that many games, but still!). A RPG fan would be depriving themselves of a great pleasure by not playing this. So yes I'd say get a reprint for new gamers :D
ohhh and please SNK reprint Devil Summoner 1 from the PS2.

already bought Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 early this year, have Nocturne and Devil Summoner 2(the one with the Frost Plushie i mind you :P)
oh i forgot speaking of Devil Summoner series, how about that Special Edition of Nocturne(Maniax edition; replaces Dante with Raidou, and a new 7th ending) PS2 classic release as well remake(translated) version of Devil Sumonner Soul Hackers(Vita or 3DS???)

There are so many great games on the DS that I want to play. I really don't want to buy a DS, though. I wish Atlus and many others would follow Capcom's lead and start releasing their titles on iOS(and Android, too). I bought Phoenix Wright and GHOST TRICK day one for my iPhone and I really want more DS ports. I love having games on my phone since I don't have to carry more than one device.
Glad I picked up my copy when I did. I haven't finished it yet, but it is a good game, I just can't into hand held games all that much.

I'm surprised, I didn't really think it was that great a game. I spent a week playing it then put it down. Might just be because I was anal and wanted to constantly go back and try each story line as opposed to picking one story, sticking with it, then replaying. The way the chapters were set up was a huge pain, having to skip through all the damn dialogue. Chrono Trigger has yet to be topped as far as time traveling rpg's go. *gets off soapbox*
one of the best rpg games i have played in years. i beat it three times, on my fourth playthrough now. i would actually rather they went the way of devil survivor overclocked, revamp the entire game,add full voice over, and put it on 3ds. day one buy for me. also, MAKE A STRATEGY GUIDE THIS TIME! :D

I completely agree with you. The dialogue skipping needed to be A LOT faster. I got sick of waiting for each little scene to play out over and over again. Also the way they tiered the sidequests was weird. So, when I play a game, I get to a new area (in this case a town) talk to EVERYONE, then go from there. In Radiant Historia, side quests would come up after revisiting a town, so the only way to do everything in the game (as far as I could see) was to talk to EVERYONE EVERY TIME you returned to town. Fuck that.
But I could have been playing it wrong. If someone has any pro tips I'd be happy to go back and try the game again.

Grabbed it when Amazon had it on sale as the video game deal of the day a few months ago. Still haven't taken mine out of the plastic yet, but I'm looking forward to playing it one day.
I kind of hate the collector market, especially when it leads to shit like this. Infinite Space and My World My Way might be going into similar territory (certainly isnt worth when it comes to My World My Way)
I picked up a copy when I heard that the printing may have been limited, even managed to get the version that came with the piano arrange CD. It's a good game (with an awesome soundtrack), though definitely not worth double the original cost. Any profiteers who hoard copies should be marooned on eatabagofdicks.com
