Atlus Japan on the lookout for a PS3/360 developer photo

You guys had a lot more to say about the sales of Persona 4 then I thought you would yesterday, so I suspect you'd want to hear anything you can about the possibility of Persona 5. Of course, there's been no official confirmation on the title, but we've heard that composer Shoji Meguro is already hard at work on a score for a new game. Wonder what that might be?

Jobent reported today (via Siliconera) that Atlus Japan is on the lookout for a 360/PS3 programmer. In order to apply, you must have previously worked on an RPG for either console. Sounds promising, doesn't it? Of course, it could be the sequel to Demon's Souls, too. You never know. In the meantime, I think I'll go back to fantasizing about what Persona 5 will look like on my PS3...

Seeing how Persona greatly improved from 3 to 4, 5 has the potential to be the greatest JRPG ever made.

But grammar nazism aside, it is a good day when Jack Frost is on the front page.

If I had experience with programming on a Sony console, knew Japanese, or lived in Japan...

Where is that header image from anyhow?

Believe or not, Atlus made some of the best racing games ever, I wish they started doing that again.

I thought From Software developed Demon's Souls, not Atlus's core team? I wouldn't mind an expansion of the SMT series on an HD console in any means, Persona or otherwise. Devil Summoner 3, Raidou Vs something, or just a SMT IV would all be pretty nice.

Demon's Souls is a Sony IP, developed by From Software, and published in Japan by SCEJ and published in the US by Atlus.

Atlus has nothing to do with the development of the game, except by being geniuses by picking it up and publishing it in the States because Sony seems to have totally abandoned the game (even in Japan). Even though Demon's Soul is the best hardcore gamer's game this generation.

It's true Dirtyhobo. From Software developed the game not Atlus.

Persona 5 for the next-gen? Count me in.

I still need to finish Persona 4. I know, it's a crime. Demon's Souls tonight!

When the next game comes around, I hope the animations for cutscenes will actually look natural. They have more than enough time.

I'm sick of all the Persona games. I'd much rather SMT 4.

Typical isn't it, Demons Souls is a cool game, but yet gets next to no promotion from Sony.

Anyway, back on topic, this is good to see from Atlus, They are aware they have some cool IP that sell, as well as publishing all those cool japanese games that many never seem to bother with.

Strengthening their development side for 3d games can only help them get stronger, and to be honest I'm surprised it took them this long. I'd like to see more Persona, but I'd also like to see some fresh IP from them. Come on, Atlus.

SMT4 is SMT Strange Journey, if you'd much rather have it I suggest you look into getting a DS. This much was confirmed on the JP Strange Journey site of late.

That said, unless we're going to see a setting aside from high school kids, I'd prefer to see another spin-off title for the time being.I think between P3, P3FES, P4, P3P and Persona, we need to see them pony up a P2 IS/EP set before moving on to a P5.

Seeing as a main series MegaTen probably won't be this gen's cornerstone for MegaTen games, I'm hoping there's some kind of spin-off in the spirit of Digital Devil Saga or Devil Summoner before we see another Persona.

I like the Persona series, I just prefer to see Maya get some action again before we move to P5.

"SMT4 is SMT Strange Journey"

Strange Journey isn't a numbered sequel, like III: Nocturne, so whether they count it as 4 or not is up to Atlus. If they do, then I'm sure myself along with everyone else is looking for SMT5. Stop playing semantics when you can't prove it one way or the other.

Kazuma Kaneko was only just quoted in the creator's corner last week as saying it was such, this was translated and confirmed a second time by folks over on Neo-GAF. I'm gonna take the director and lead artist of the game at his word.

I never finished P4, and so I really don't have any interest in five. To me the series has just gotten stale.

Since when is Strange Journey SMT4?

I definitely see Persona 5 and the real SMT4 happening on current-gen consoles. Something also tells me they'll be exclusive to the PS3.

Ohhh I very much like the fact that it's "360/PS3" programmer, not an exclusive either way. SMT action for everyone means happiness for everyone. =D

If it is in fact SMT. Probably.

"Since when is Strange Journey SMT4?"

SJ pretty much has everything a true SMT sequel needs, apart from a 4 in the title. For all intents and purposes it IS a true SMT sequel, whether they decide to consider "SMT4" or not. (In fact in many ways it's more of a true SMT game than Nocturne was.)

As long as it's either Persona or any games title with SMT came out on 360, it will be the day one purchase for me. ( except SMT MMO :D )
