You already know that the devil-collecting, dungeon-crawling delight Persona 4 is coming just in time for Christmas this year, but you may not know much about the game's setting and characters. To hold us over until release, Atlus has given us details Persona 4's main protagonists as well as some character art.
PROTAGONIST
The main character of Persona 4. He recently moved to the countryside to live with his uncle and cousin. After awakening to his potential as a Persona user, he opens the door to a mysterious world.
CHIE SATONAKA
A classmate of the Protagonist’s who was born and raised in Inaba. She is a cheerful, energetic girl, but what dark burden does she bear within herself? And what could her talents as a Persona-user be?
YOSUKE HANAMURA
The Protagonist’s classmate at Yasogami High School. He has an amicable personality and is adept at reading social situations. He, too, awakens as a Persona user, but what triggers his awakening?
YUKIKO AMAGA
Yukiko’s days are occupied with helping her family run the historic Amagi Inn. She joins the group of Persona users, but how is she involved in the murder case?
TEDDIE
A mysterious creature that the Protagonist and his friends encounter inside the TV. It seems to have some power in the other world, but is it friend or foe?
Baby, baby, baby, I can't wait for this game. I want to hop into televisions, solve murder mysteries, and find out why the hell Teddie has a zipper on his head. If you're wanting all the goodies, including the soundtrack CD and artbook, make sure you preorder before December 9.
Undoing Teddie's zipper (that doesn't sound right) pops off his head, revealing that, just like humanity, he is hollow inside.
Also, undoing Teddie's zipper is not nearly as appealing as untying Aigis' bow, which was her S.Link Rank 10 event. Oh Aigis~
wat
Right, everywhere is going on about this game, so what the hell is it about? Never played any of them.
The Persona series is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei, a horror-based jRPG franchise. The Persona games themselves are more "real-world" oriented, focusing on high-school aged characters and the like. Persona 3 and 4 are lighter in tone than the first two, and play out a little more like an anime series. Characters can summon various mythical figures as "Personas" and use them for attacks and whatnot.
P4 is 2 years after P3, and is based in a rural area, where mysterious murders happen whenever it gets foggy or something. Also, it's connected to TVs somehow.
There actually is something inside Kuma's suit, but I won't spoil that for people who don't already know.
Also, these quotes are just what the character profiles on the P4 website say. Lame.
