Atlus seems to be releasing titles left and right lately, which kind of makes me feel like a grinning idiot in a field of puppies (this is a good thing).
Dokapon Kingdom is, as the video declares, a cross between a boardgame and an RPG, has super adorable characters, and will likely send anime fans into a fit of delighted screeching.
Go see the
ridiculously happy official site if your interest is piqued, which describes the upcoming title as "zany". I can't remember the last time I heard that word used seriously, but now that I stop to think about it, I like zany. The story is simple: monsters attack, the king calls for warriors to save it, and you get money and the hand of the princess if you emerge victorious. ( I love how women are always a prize in these games. What if she doesn't WANT to marry you?)
The game will come out on October 18th for PS2 and Wii and will retail for $39.99. I've noticed that while Atlus does release titles for most consoles, they haven't forgotten the PS2 owners out there, which I love. I'll definitely pick this up, as I wouldn't be much of a Cute Ambassador™ if I didn't.
