I love Atlus and I love Nippon Ichi Software, and those sons of bitches know that they have people like me in their pockets. I can't break away. They could sell me almost anything!

Thankfully, they're selling the good stuff. They send word that this obscure game dream team continues to bring in the niche hits with Disgaea DS and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Oh, and Disgaea 3 for the PS3, of course.

"Over the years, we have built a strong relationship with Atlus," said Harusato Akenaga, President of NIS America. "We have worked together on a number of great titles in the past and we are thrilled to partner once again to release Disgaea 3, Disgaea DS, and Rhapsody later this year. Please look forward to some of the most hardcore games to be released for PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS!"

Disgaea DS is exactly as it sounds; a remade Disgaea that takes advantage of the DS screens and stylus. I've loved this game, and I'll love it again with its new story and ending, specially made for this version. In a similar vein, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure is a DS remake of the PlayStation original. For the uninitiated, it's a musical RPG, with singing and all. Both titles launch on September 23rd for $29.99.

And then there's Disgaea 3. We've been blabbering on about this one for awhile. The good news today is that it launches on August 26th for $49.99.

I'm getting them all. Which ones are you getting?

I already have Disgaea for my PS2 and PSP... So why not buy it for my DS?

I could be very easily talked into getting Rhapsody :-)

I would be all over Disgaea DS if I weren't so engrossed in Afternoon of Darkness already...Im 60+ hours in and still not quite at the end. Plus, i dont know this for certain, but I am assuming that the DS won't have all the amazing (bilingual!) voicework that was in the PSP release. D3 is one of the few games that might get me to buy a PS3 down the line, and I'm loving the $50 pricepoint. NIS's other stuff looks pretty cool--puchi puchi virus is coming out soon!

I always wanted to play Rhapsody for the PS1. It's been sitting in my Goozex queue forever.

Glad to hear it's coming out for the DS.

You know, I have Disgaea for both PS2 and PSP and I've yet to finish either. And yet, I'll probably end up buying the DS version.

Damn you Nippon Ichi!

I'm glad they brought back Rhapsody. It was such a cute game on the PSOne. Any spell that buries your foes in a pile of pancakes is a sweet death indeed. Bring on the maple syrup!

Hmm... I have Disgaea on PS2 and PSP. I love the series to death and I've already paid for 3. The question is whether or not the DS version is worth it. I know it's cheap, and I want to support NIS, but will it be worth buying again?
I don't think I'm expecting anything to dethrone Bangai-O Spirits...

I hate how disgagea 3 is on the PS3 only. Come on the 360 is where all the RPGs go now, it's the new PS2. They would force me to buy a PS3 but my new PC will come first(I think...) Anyway, I'll get both DS titles. Atlus is full of win and so is NIS America.

I just hope that Disgaea DS will be to the original game as FES is to Persona 3.

I'll be getting Disgaea 3 for sure. I'll probably pick up Rhapsody at some point, but I'm not sure which version of Disgaea to get.

Getting Disgaea 3 on day 1. I hope they make enough copies of this game since a lot of people are hyped for this. I'm pre-ordering just to be safe.

*Yawn* Tell me when NIS actually has new idea. I got tired of GRINDAN Laharl in the first iteration of the game. Shoving it into portable form doesn't make it any less horrifyingly tedious.

And Rhapsody is a terrible game. Cramming it into the DS isn't going to make it magically better.

September is the month of Yggdra Union PSP. Now THAT'S a real man's game.

Gen Eric Gui: At least it's not that other horrible game Riviera. I haven't lost interest in an RPG that quickly since Golden Sun.

I will be buying Disgaea 3 and Disgaea DS though.

Amazing.

Disgaea DS comes out on my birthday. I missed it the first time on PS2, and never bought a PSP.

I finally get a chance to play it! :D
